My dad is a veteran, and he once told me he had to search for his friends, among other bodies. After finding them, He had to drive the night without any lights on (so nobody could see and target him on the road, and he could safely drive through the night) in order to give one last ride to his friends and their families were waiting for the bodies on the other end... I always wondered how my dad was before the Iran-Iraq war, you know? I heard stories about he was more vibrant, more alive, but sadly not anymore. Sometimes I wonder if he has any emotions whatsoever. I see it in his eyes, I sense it. He is in pain, I'm in tears, but there is nothing one can do about it except to maybe love him but better and more cautious? Thank you for this. We can relate. 💙

The third friend was the dead friend all along, and when they opened his body bag he had a cross on, meaning he had renounced his Islamic faith/life..which is a BIG DEAL..and in the end they still called him their friend when asked. Which was sweet

@@LurkerBae SPOILER ALERT Thanks. I watched it again, after my comment, and realized the third friend seemed to be a bystander the whole time. I got that the cross had significance, from the first viewing. I think it shouldn’t take two viewings to “get” a film, but maybe I’m just slow, or maybe the cinematography somehow could have had more clues…I just didn’t instantly get that the dead guy’s face and the third friend’s face were the same, that the third friend never spoke, etc. And it was odd that the dead friend did not at all look like a corpse, but I guess that was meant to suggest he/christianity would always stay alive? Interesting film overall, to me.
