@maciejsuchecki76534 ай бұрын
I was considering buying that car and loved torque wave, but had enough of diesels for now after owning 4 of them in the row, so ended up with 540i Xdrive touring. Driving like you did, it would take about 7.5l/100 max with OEM+ MHD map 360hp 500NM. What actually positively surprised me is, that going across continent including autobahns, it never took more than 10.5l/100 and I do not drive slow, quite far from it. Mine previous f31 330d Xdrive LCI was burning about 8.5l/100 in the same conditions but was much slower on autobahn even after remap. So taking into account potential future costly problems with this complicated quad turbos, DPF, carbon deposit issues, EGR cooler saga, etc, I am happy with the petrol version and can highly recommend it after 3 years of trouble free driving. Moving around in the big city heavy traffic is completely different story as mine is without mild hybrid, and start stop is coded out. Expect about 15l/100. Thank you and safe driving everyone.

It hasn't. Modern petrol engines consume less fuel than they used to in the past if you're driving them slowly. A diesel still consumes little fuel no matter how you drive them. Fuel consumption while driving 100km on cruise is almost same for gas/diesel, but diesel stays pretty economical at high speeds on the Autobahn. My car at 100kmh = 1L=22 km. Every 20 km speed I add 2km fuel economy lost, so 120=20 , 140=18, 160=16 180=14. Higher speeds? Who cares about fuel :) Do that with gas car with lots of accelerations, then you will not get far on a tank. Diesel is superb for long journeys at high speed, not for sensation, because there is none.

I get 100% accurate fillips with my Fiat Ducato as I stop filling when the diesel is about to come out of the filler neck and not foam, actual diesel.

@azizdrives While filling up you should proceed like this in order to obtain a much realistic fill ups. At the point when it stops for the first time, you should wait 25-30sec. and then try again to add more gas. Tried myself in a personal test and resulted more realistic however it will be some discrepancy between real and onboard computer because of variables they are using to find out.

I pay do you know how much for 100km? 1.7eur. Because I drive electric and charge at night at home. I save so much on fuel it almost covers my financing.. Before I was paying anywhere from 11-13eur/100km

Unfortunately in many places, the steep depreciation of an electric car negates any fuel savings.

5,6l/100km at 90km/h is a little too much. The rain surely ads extra effort to the car to overcome it. 4x4 also adds extra consumption. Do they make these m550d on rwd?? Nice funny review btw 😂

5.6l/100 is what I get from my 335d when driving within the limit, around 110kmph so probably about right. Fuel is power and driving at a similar speed requires similar power. Diesel will always be 30% more efficient than petrol in a like for like test. Diesel is more energy dense than petrol and the combustion process more efficient

Is it BMW or the gas station that’s lying?
@LamantinoElettronico3 ай бұрын
The video is excellent as always but I think doing the numbers on it is pretty pointless. Let me explain: for a turbodiesel car it's obviously not super economical since many other diesel cars can push for less than 5 L/100km on highways and around 7 in city driving. However, this one only drinks slightly more (on the highway anyway, in the city the difference will obviously be starker, I think it would do almost 10) while giving you a max FOUR HUNDRED HORSEPOWER and I don't want to know how many Nm of torque if you ask for it. There. Find me any gasoline powered car with comparable power which gets the same consumption figures. People who dismiss diesel engines refuse to accept this truth

My E46 330cd mapped to 300bhp does that economy at circa 160kmh, drop down to 110ish and it's more like low 5's, so yes petrols have come a long way, but only when your driving slowly, diesels still good economy even at high speeds :)
