I'd have to agree. Frost has always been better (especially with consistent damage), but I'm the type of player that likes to play what is fun personally rather than what is the best. Sure, playing the best class is fun but learning a more underground spec and being able to play it is very rewarding. Of course this is just my opinion though so if you enjoy Frost, do it up! Yep. I've been 2460 in 3v3 as Fire this season, so it's definitely viable and will be in 5.4 as well. Both have their pros and cons.

Yes it's better in a lot of cases but this is just a regular battleground, nothing serious so just having a little fun with Blazing Speed. Plus it's amazing for positioning for deep freezes and kiting. In arenas I use PoM mainly. Check out my arena videos!

Hey Hansol, I started a mage and went frost. I honestly got bored, tried fire and love it. Still at 88 but already your videos have helped me a great deal. I'm sure I will refer to them more when I get to 90. Coming from feral druid, I think fire mage is harder in pvp. I am very thankful for your videos and you seem very cool. I just wanted to thank you. These videos really do help. I enjoy your battleground commentaries the most, but I watch whatever you make. :)

Fire seems fine enough. I switched to fire for the first time since BC and am loving it. It's a nice change. I stopped playing my Mage because I was so over frost. Your videos got me back on to play Fire. Tops.

Hey man respect for ypu're skill and all u are da boss... One thing I've missed a lot in you're videos is using deep freeze as a secondary instant after a fireball/scorch or whatever to land a deep and hot streak at the same time if u cant pick up the hot streak before u go for deep.... like inferno blast>jaw/nova>scorch>deep ... now u got fresh deep + hot streak ready for the one shot

I want to add in a really strong opener for mages to open with against other mages. I've also watched your advanced burst guide. For it you do need deep glyph and and pom to be able to do this and you'll also need to freeze your target 1st then deep and silence on the same global then PoM pyro, inferno blast, pyro ,combust (a macro or 2 to make this as fast as possible can help) then your alter time burst without PoM from your video because you have a pyro rolling for utter destruction.

Whats the best way to use deep freeze? With fire you have to use one of the freezing moves just to use your deepfreeze which pretty much wastes whatever move you used to freeze the target initially. With frost you dont have to because of fingers of frost so whats the best way to use deep freeze as fire?

Elite T2 Cataclysmic Gear. You can't get it anymore, you had to get 2.2k+ rating back in Season 11.

When u pop one shot rotation make sure you have a pyro proc and 1 heating up proc so when u time warp and deep freeze u get and extra 2 crit pyros

Also I know 1v1 duels don't mean much, but I use Alter time at the start of duels against hunters while I have both ice barrier n canters ward up. Have also been testing out temperial shield in duels against hunters, the burst gets healed back over 6secs.

It is all preference if you find you are getting trained a bit too much blazing speed can help create a gap that is why I enjoy it even if it is a slight opener or burst changer.

My biggest question is how do I use alter time efficiently? I always seem to mess it up or use it at the wrong time /not use it when I should. I'm pretty good at getting shatter combos with hot streak -> deep -> pyro -> combust -> pyro -> inferno -> pyro, but I also know alter time can be used, just not 100% on it. Thanks Hansol.

Pro tip Hansol: You can't use slow fall wille blazing speed is active anymore, you have to apply it beforehand. I noticed you tried to do it near the end of the video.

its called Phantom Blade (crafted from BS) but with same model (idk if color too) u can get from vendor in Netherstorm, i think its called Ethereal Phantom Blade or something like that...

You need a trinket to get out of CC in arena. Maybe not for BG or RBG but in arena it's crucial. If you're deeping and going for a kill and you get cced and your healer can't dispel cause he's cross CCed or if he's even a second late on dispel you won't be able to get the kill. Blocking offensively is pretty much a loss vs a good team in MoP. You're probably playing at under 2.2k mmr cause that's the only time you can play without it. P.S Ice Block is on a global cooldown, trinket is not

Nice to see a fire mage video, fire keeps getting bashed and as a new mage when I ask more experienced players whenever I speak of going fire I just get an awkward silence followed by dude don't be a scrub. Deep freeze is mostly used for the silence, if u have ur crit chance at 25% ur frost nova n frost jaw will crit from any fire spell. Deep freeze u will use when u are trying to global someone. Also living bomb crits with 2secs left . It's always situational.

Hi, Hansol, is there something wrong with arenas? Sometimes me and my team get some guys, like Frost Mages and druids with 300k-320k HP that hit so hard... I'm full Tyr ilvl 496 in my Warrior and Mage and I hit so low on those guys and they hit me so hard... Is there something wrong? It's like from 10 arenas, 1 of them I get guys like these...

Actually I have that glyph, it's pretty obvious that fire mages need it for pvp. But there is a slight delay all the same, like 0.2-3 seconds, and that's usually enough for someone to pop the freeze before I can deep.

Hey Hansol, I'm part of an RBG team but my DPS is really suffering. I think part of it comes from never being able to Deep a target, as there's that slight delay after freezing one and by the time I cast deep my team has shattered it already. I didn't say it was possible in high rated arena, did I? I was just saying that it is possible to win without it, which shouldn't be the case. Every class should be obligated to use a Trinket but DKs, Mages and Locks can actually do pretty well without one. I personally use a 2nd DPS Trinket only in BGs and 2v2, because that's just 1shot anyway :D I play at ~2k mmr in 3s (after 1 month of serious PvP) so please don't assume I'm a bad player just because I bring up ideas. Great video again but I always wonder why many mages, including you, don't use Glyph of Ice Block... I mean it gives you a free nova, makes you immune to harmful spells for a short time. Combine that with blink and blazing speed and you'll outrun many classes. Not to mention a bonus shatter crit from the free nova.
