being that I got my Proto Rize for $200 new when they first came out, I'd say my Rize was the best choice. I'd say getting someone's secondhand Blitz Evo 2 for cheap would be a great starter gun (and probably give a new player some experience with maintenance; I've seen the Blitz 3 on craigslist for $80 and I'd say that's a nice buy for the same reason), but the obviously superior gun of the bunch is the GS.

the warranty on the Mini GS is rediculous! I had a leak down the barrel and GI sent me a poppet, free, no questions asked, then when it was still leaking I called them and they were like "oh, that sucks, we'll send out a bolt guide." zero cost or hassle to me. Just sent it out. I love Empire.

My 2 cents is the Azodin makes some eye catching colors, it's why I even clicked on this old video. Just wanted to see it :) I would take the Mini over all but in all honestly, go on a used Facebook BST page and pick up a nice Ego/Geo or something high end that's a few years old. Much better and generally the same price. Good review!

The Evo 2 is a fairly good gun and a LOT better of a beginner's intro to electro markers than what was available 10 years ago but given the option, a used Mini just makes sense. This post will be long so, my apologies to the readers : The Evo 2 and previous Z2 make for great back-up markers for players which already have a high end tournament marker , they are not Mini / Axe Killers, especially not a threat to Lurker /Numech upgraded Minis / Axes. I own over 30 paintball markers ranging from 20 years old to modern some of which are near impossible to acquire these days but I still want an Azodin Z2 for the fact it and the Evo 2 are pretty much the pinnacle of what can be done with the stacked tube blowback design. Now for some Paintball History /editorial from a "crusty old paint slinger": Before Azodin the "brass ring" for that kind of marker was the old Bob Long Millennium markers and the Fireball Mountain custom stacked tube blowbacks ( both of which were all mechanical unless you were willing to dole out another $200 USD for the Centerflag Uprising bolt on electromechanical frame.) or on the flip side you had the absurdly WEIRD closed bolt STBB which was the PMI Evil "Omen". None of which were cheap. The Millenium was almost $500 USD in the 90's and the fireball Mountain STBB's started at $400 USD and went up to about $700 USD for the full custom package.( This was for what many regarded as a "high priced mechanical Spyder clone"in the era of the Autococker & Automag.) Fireball Mountain sold FAR more custom Autocockers than custom "Spyder style" STBB markers as the cost was very close between a full custom FBM "Spyder clone" and an Autococker built upon an FBM body. The Evil Omen was just under $500 when they came out and they were regarded as one of the very few eyeless electronic "Spyder clones" which were less prone to turn into a blender and chop paint with a vengance. The gen 1.0's fingers of the Omen could not take the pressure of force fed loaders like the then new HALO hoppers , generation 1.5 upgrades fixed this. The 2.0 Evil Omen while quirky as all get out and honestly an engineering nightmare was ( when tuned correctly) a high end STBB and it worked pretty darn well , though they should have just made it a high end open bolt STBB to reduce complexity and need for tuning but it was the early / mid 00's. Things were indeed strange in that era. You'll note I did not include electronic Spyders nor their clones such as the PMI Piranha. The reason for this being the former having poor build quality awful reliability and horrible triggers, the latter having mediocre build quality bad gas efficiency but better triggers and a little better reliability. Both were fairly cheap but none of the Pre Azodin electro open bolt STBB options were any good at all. a Mechanical STBB was actually a better option for that class of marker operation back then as no company bothered with real innovation (nor quality control in some cases) due to an unfortunate stigma which hung over the platform in player's eyes. In that era I and many others would argue ANY other form of marker operation was a better option than the electromechanical open bolt STBB marker . The STBB format gets a bad rap from Brass Eagle , JT's & Kingman /Spyder's offerings in the late 90's early 00's. "Build em cheap and stack em deep" was the order of the day for that era ...And it showed. : poor design, lousy build quality , terrible efficiency , blown o-rings ,horrible muzzle rise , loud reports , shoddy shot quality , awful triggers and pure pain if you wanted to upgrade them to not suck. Just avoid Brass Eagle, JT and Spyder markers of that era. Though the original late 80's early 90's Brass Eagle markers made in the US were good for their era ( Keywords "of their era". They are hopelessly outdated now , though still fun for recreational throwback games or as a handicap.) ,newer Spyders are a lot better and the JT impulse while not an STBB is genuinely GOOD/terribly under-rated. Azodin took a good hard look at the market took a page out of Bob Long's early playbook and just ran with the concept as far as they could. They developed the STBB format as much as one could and use all industry standard parts. Their Z2 I would almost class as a "supergun", at the absolute bare minimum I would designate them as the best in their class of marker. To me Azodin represents a much needed "what do you give to the paintballer who has almost everything?" kind of marker , they scratch an itch no other company does, and for that I love em. A good used Mini or better an Axe stock work great. Those two markers when upgraded with their respective Lurker Eigenbolts I would honestly rank as genuine superguns able to compete with ANYTHING on the market , give either a full upgrade package of barrel, bolt, trigger, (lurker) poppet and Numech parts ( The numech parts being strictly optional ergonomic changes.) and you have one of the best markers in paintball FULL STOP. (Just don't tell the DLX Luxe fanboys , they might get a little upset...) But a higher end Azodin offering makes for a great back up in case something goes wrong.

the Etha 2 has an operating pressure of 250 as well, does the tank need to be set to 250 in order to get the best performance from the marker?

Typically you want about double the pressure coming out of your tank, so around 500 would be best.

I just don't like boomsticks. They're way too expensive and are just a cooler looking ul barrel. But I guess that's what a barrel is. 50% looks, 40% how it changes the sound of your gun, and 10% accuracy.

The Code is different to the mini . The Valken Code is an absurdly small spool valve design and the Mini is a single tube in-line poppet valve marker. In the most stripped down Cliff's Notes fashion I can give: The Code will be smoother and quieter at the expense of efficiency . The Bone stock Mini will be a bit louder and have a tiny bit more rise but you'll get more shots out of your tank.

The thing is I've had my a5 since I've started paintball and I was still learning how stuff works and what i should/shouldn't get so I thought it would be cool to add after market parts and make it look more realistic. I accomplished what I was going for but..... I ended up making my gun bulkier, heavier, and harder to use. But u learn from ur mistakes right? I did make it more valuable in money so I should be selling it soon. I don't want to go more into detail because I'm already saying a lot but the main reasons I want this new gun is because it is slimmer, lighter, has a faster ROF (bps), and easier to use and maneuver (because my a5 has an m4 butt stock that would always hit my mask when switching hands, which is not always easy to do because of the remote line). I'm sorry for the really long message I just wanted u to understand my situation and I reallllllllly wanted ur opinion on this gun. Also sorry for the late response I am currently in school. Did you even watch the video? You're a woodsball player and you don't mind a marker that has excess kick or sound, and since they're all pretty similar you're really considering 2 things: your budget and your playing style. If you're on a stricter budget, go with the cheapest option. If you have a certain preference for the style of foregrip, go with what works. If you buy the Mini GS for instance and dislike the way you have to hold it you'll be kicking yourself. Just weigh the options yourself. You don't need someone making the executive decision for you lest you disagree in hindsight.

Well of course the GS is better, it's starting price is like 100 or nearly 200 more than the others respectively, it's really not comparable to the Azodin. You should really also mention that the Rize Maxxed doesn't offer anything special for the extra money; the basic Rize is the only version you should get if you go with Proto. I think the Azodin should really only be compared to things like Spyder, D3fy, Proto and maybe Tippmann or something. If someone is really just getting into it, and they know how bad they got screwed with a rental, the Azodin is perfect because it's cheap but can help a noob hold their own whether it's on a speedball Sunday or a big scenario game. No, I don't own an Evo, but that's more the mindset of the market interested in something like this. Oh and I forgot to mention GOGs...anyways, that's my 5¢

Tom Brown the rize maxxed offers a lot more when you look at uprgrade parts. Maxxed has much better barrel. Better feed neck. Both which may cost you $100 easily to upgrade. So the maxxed is well worth the extra money over the base rize

the blitz 3 is cheaper than the evo 2 because it doesn't have an on/off asa, two piece barrel, or the zero system (which is the main reason the evo 2 is almost $100 more than the blitz 3). The zero system brings the operating pressure down from around 400 to 240 and makes it a lot smoother and quieter

I own this gun. When I recently decided to try out paint balling again, I was one of the first to receive this marker. I bought it because I didn't want to buy something expensive and then not get back into paint balling. And it was TERRIBLE. My competition fields run about 280-300 FPS and this gun cant shoot straight higher than 240 fps. Which sucks. Also the ramping modes SUCK. When you trigger ramping and let go of the trigger, it will shoot full auto for like 2-3 seconds after you let go, like its stuck or something. The trigger is the only nice thing about this gun. Its funny, because I wrote a review on this gun on ANSgear after the first week it came out and my exact words: "So I may be one of the first to get this product as it was just released and I must say i'm pretty disappointed. The gun feels way cheaper than a Smart Parts Ion and is more expensive. My biggest annoyance with this was the fact that ANS gear sent me one that looked used. Right as I opened my box, the Box for the Marker was old and dented, you could tell it sat on a shelf and got beat up for a few months. The gun its self had all sorts of wear and dings on the matte purple finish. It feels like they sent me the Demo version of this gun. Pretty upset that ANS didnt bother to check the gun before sending it to me because this is pretty disappointing." Turns out that all of them are pretty crappy looking.. lol.. Long story short. I bought an M2 two weeks later. And I will probably never use the Evo even for a fun off day. Its that bad.

When the invert mini first came out there was a OLED. Most people didn't buy it because the forgrip it was housed in was dust black and didn't match any gun ano that was out there at the time. It was also like a $150 board upgrade were as the shockwave board upgrade was only $20
