the guide was surely called Rui Medeiros, a very frequent family name in the Azores. As for "Merdeiros", in Portguese it means something like frequent shiter

They bloom in September by mid Oct they're gone. Retired on São Jorge island recently, Im waiting with baded breath to see my first blooming season. Much like the 🌷 in the Netherlands where i retired from .

Blue and white - the color is unique to the island due to the soil composition.
