Azov 64131 Review: The KING of Tortoise Speed | Slow & Steady Wins The Race!

This is the "i am watching a netflix series on my other screen and I want to get this mission done in Snowrunner" truck. Doesn't require much fiddling with it to work, very few things defeat it (a bit top heavy so it will tip over especially if you use it with the sideboard bed) and it takes around 20 mins to finish a mission, just the lenght of an episode.

Its a very very slow truck thats for sure. I've played this truck probably the most and honestly I dont find it tippy at all. Its not everyones cup of tea, but its just a slow lumbering turtle. The netflix part you mentioned cracked me up! lol

I think the Azov 64131 is by far the easiest vehicle for new players in the entire game. It's slow but strong and dependable.

@@NProvince bro, this truck isn’t as good as Tayga or Voron AE-4380, but 73-rd and military one are ok. Especially military one for scouting and refueling.

@@Geniy_B_Kvadrate_XD_ua Well in truth I never claimed this truck was superior to any Voron or Tayga. In fact my tierlist video has it ranked beneath them. It is my favorite truck for sure though becuase of the things I spoke about. Also the Taygas and Vorons are 6x6 Trucks and offer a complete different gameplay compared to the 8x8s. Its hard to straight up give a comparisson.

@@NProvince I am just talking that if someone will need to choose truck for mud It will be most likely Voron or Tayga, but azov only good for snow on my opinion.

I used this truck a lot, then somehow forgot about him as he is reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaly sloooooow, but after some time I found my way back to it, as you can get everywhere at the same time, as some faster trucks. It is slow but steady and it will get the job done, just give him a better engine and you can't go wrong with this one. Easy to handle (though slow to turn), strong and capable. Yeah, I really like this one. And your videos as well, of course :)

There's one tip I'd give anyone starting Snowrunner: "get the 64131 at level 2" It's such a forgiving truck, perfect for learning the game. The only downside of getting the Azov at lvl 2 would be that all American trucks are instantly obsolete.

That precisely what I did when I first started and it helped me tremendously and made the game easier. The downside you speak is very true as well. In addition to that I feel using this truck that early hamstrings players to learn the game from using lesser trucks. Good tip :)

I am excited to see this one. I really like the 64131 but I feel the 73210 is overlooked because of its nose scraping issues even though the active suspension fixes its prior issues. This and the tayga are my repair and refuel trucks for stability and speed.

The 73210 is overlooked somewhat. Its active suspension helps with the overhang issues and its such a powerful truck too. Honestly the 5319, 64131, and the 73210 all are super good trucks and they all bring something different to the table while being similar as well.

Thank you! Yep now that DLCs are released you can just sell off Those from the start. Back in the day you had to scrounge up money in black river. Great colors schemes too, I agree!

Funny how your videos help me to reconsider trucks I took for granted during my earlier hours of playtime. When first playing snowrunner, I wanted things to go fast. And even started with mods, to make things easier. But after few months of rushed playing, I started to lose interest in this wonderful game. So I decided to take things from another angle. And started to appeciate the game for what it is, and for it's slow pace aspect. Then I decided to try this truck again. Waouw. I really think It's a real gift to my fleet. Even with it's small tires, even if it's slow, I have the feeling nothing can stop it (and most of the time it's true). Same report for the KRS Bandit. Never used it before. But this one I use it now for more specialized tasks, like logging.

I definitely was alot like what you described in your comment. It took some time to get a new perspective, but after that, truck seem more useful and the game feels more enjoyable! Glad these videos can help you reconsider some trucks.

I was actually pretty disappointed with this truck after hearing all the positive feedback. First tried to do the fuel trailer delivery mission right beside the russia garage. It couldnt pull it free. I figured thats fine I’ll give it a try later after I’ve given it a better engine. Then I took it for another spin because I needed a stable truck that can use the seismic vibrator. Was impressed at the fuel efficiency and actually did not find it to be as slow as expected. But then on the second scan point in the middle of a large swamp, it got stuck all the time. Ended up towing it with a cat745c to finish the job! So far, am liking the azov 73210 a lot more!

Oh Im really sorry to hear that. Well in all fairness swamp is gonna glue most trucks and sink them down to the frame. That is indeed a weakness of the 64131. I've put more hours into this thing than any truck and I think you just had a few bad experiences. Ya the 73210 is better objectively, but thats one of the best vehicles in the game with the largest engine in the game as well. Its not the best truck, but it is one of the better vehicles

Ya I figured it was just bad luck. The truck is so popular that all those people cant be wrong. And the expectation was maybe too high. With the game’s natural progression, you keep getting better and better trucks. And hearing that this thing was supposedly unstoppable, I just wasnt expecting to get stuck at all!

@MapleGamer oh man...I hope you didnt get that image from this video my friend. It really does have good strengths and weaknesses that need addressed for sure. There are few, very few trucks who I would say are unstoppable. I think alot of people ruin the game with not naturally progressing like you mentioned.

Not at all, it was maybe a month ago and I only recently watched some of your vids, which were great btw! Just started hardmode a week or two ago because I’ve done most of the stuff and I dont have dlc yet. Also wanted to have an actual excuse to use the weaker vehicles instead of artificially handicapping myself in normal mode (when I have access to all the better trucks).

Another great review! I always check out the reviews after I've tried the trucks myself on a couple of missions. I'm currently on Taymir and this truck is performing great on those maps! The fuel efficiency is insane on this truck 🤯 I drove with the drill from the railway station in drowned lands to oil rig base in Zimegorsk and I had almost half a tank when I arrived - I could probably made it back again without refueling. The low speed also makes it less prone to damaging the suspension and tires on paved road. Overall a really good truck!

Awesome review. This truck is a little ironic I think. The Azov 64131 which we all know moves at the speed of smell is actually based on the Kamaz that won the Paris/Dacar Rally numerous times. I wonder why they made it so that your trigger finger goes numb after holding the accelerator down for hours? 🤘🤔🤘

@@fridayisgaming, actually, it's a different model line. And the rally truck is 4x4, has a Caterpillar engine and almost nothing in common with production models.

One of my favourite rigs. It's slowness is not a big deal. The Tatra T813, T815, Zikz 605r, and Azov 7 are slow as well. Besides, speed kills in Snowrunner. I run my Azov 6 with OHS II tyres. They let it buzzsaw through mud because it's a pretty heavy rig.

The 64131 is such a good truck! Perfect for beginners. Currently it's one of my rescue cranes. It's almost too easy to drive sometimes!

New!? Thats awesome! How are youl liking the game so far? In alot of these videos, I talk about trying new trucks, lesser trucks, and trying to make them work. The KOLOB is going to make the game really easy for you and so will this truck too, but I do want to encourage using trucks acquired from a chronological playthrough. Even If you're skipping around try and use trucks with the goal to make them work. So I used the Azov 64131 when I started playing and it made the game too easy and I aslo I didnt learn much about the game because it kinda carried me through. When I decided to branch out and use others; I found it challenging, yet it was satisfying when I had success. I hope that helps :)

It's really fun so far and I still use the littile Chevy truck scout and a cat truck that's dlc if that helps the kolab for me right now is sorta big guns as if it got stuck I don't really have a way to get it out

I actually really respect that. I think Russian trucks in the vanilla game are strong. I’ve played this truck a lot and I think the Vorons and the Tayga thrive in Amur. The Azov feels like it sinks. Regardless, mad respect!

I have actually been playing a little more fast paced recently as well. Its speed is probably the biggest downside in my humble opinion.

I'd have gotten to this comment sooner but I was waiting for the Azov to drive around the block. It just got back after 3 weeks. :D I don't use this guy as much as I should because of a few reasons. It's boring because it's dependable. Not many things to tweak with it, it's slow and yeah, just that. Considering it's smaller tire size which means it can get bogged down in mud which needs a winch more than most. I can find other trucks to do the job and usually faster. To be honest I use the Tayga as my guide for usefulness. I would rather use the Tayga for anything this guy can do, HOWEVER I have found myself saying "Fine, I'll just use the Azov and get it done because I know it can"

It is very very slow for sure. However I think using one the best trucks in the game as a guide for usefulness is not a good standard to use. Both taygas are essentially Either Top 3 or Top 5 in the game in general. If you’re using that as a guide or standard you will think most trucks are very bad then

@@NProvince That is true, and that's mainly because the Tayga gets unlocked early and easily. Since it's available quick you use it a lot. However, with my games I only ever have 1 of each truck so I have 1 Tayga and 1 Tayga B. If they are busy then I need something else. Also, I like to use a variety anyways so I will break out some others just to play around.

All trucks get stuck at certain point unless you float. If it didn’t have the downside of ground clearance which is actually pretty great if you at the collision mesh; this truck would be way to strong

I think this truck kinda overrated. For dry mud and off-road it can go through it no issues but when deep and wet mud kicks in. It will stuck. For me, I prefer Bandit because this thing is unstoppable. I can put a construction rig semi trailer through deep mud with Bandit. It absolutely snail pace but it never stop unlike Azov brother. Also it suspension is incredible. it go through rock like a boss. But if the terrain no that extreme Azov would do better. For some reason Bandit quite slow in dry mud and dirt road.

I see what you mean, well that is a problem with every truck that doesn’t have the balloon tires that the bandit does. Now the slowing down you’re speaking of is just due to the nature of those tires on the bandit, they are meant to be buoyant and not sink in any mud, but at fast speeds they can get slowed down pretty quick. All trucks have their limits, if the Azov had massive tires it would be very overpowered. Like I said in the video I think it’s downsides were used to balance this vehicle from being too strong.

I respect your opinion that you don’t find this truck useful, but testing has shown it’s really stable and the lack of crane and sideboard bed with a trailer is not that big of a deal. Yes, it’s slow, and it has small tires, but I don’t think this truck gets most popular in game because it’s bad.
