I think the Void is a litte bit more fascinating. When you think about, that the old Gods came from the Void just to search for Worldsouls.... then i dont want to imagine what their masters could do in our universe. Didnt the Shadow Priest relikt weapon told us, that we saw til jet, just a very litte part from the might of the Void? Even the Titans are afraid from the void Lords.

I found the parallels in the Azshara short to the Sylvanas short intriguing. When Azshara is holding the tidal wave back, there is an elf mother holding a baby looking at Azshara similarly to the elf mother Sylvanas tells one of the rangers to “take her; go.” As she is drowning, she thinks of her people and then they “appear” to become undead and attack her. Not an exact match to the undead marching toward Silvermoon City…kind of like a tidal wave. She then offers her people to N’Zoth as a way to save them. “Take my people. With them I will raise an army.” Sylvanas raises an army and expects unquestioned service as Azshara has been depicted to have. When N’Zoth transforms Azshara into the Naga queen, it has a hint of the flavor of Sylvanas being transformed into a banshee. Though not in the Sylvanas Warbringer short, there is a reference to Guldan telling Varian he will be remembered as the king who died for nothing as Azshara tells N’Zoth he will be the god of nothing if he let’s her die (similarly to Sylvanas telling Anduin he’s won nothing). Props to you Missildine, you are the only KZbinr I’ve watch that has pointed this out. Nice artistic touches: the implied tentacles made by bubbles as her people sink into the sea; when she is naming her terms to make a deal with N’Zoth, Azshara’s dress and legs look like tentacles, her hair resembles like the head plate and tentacles she will have after her transformation. Azshara shown in the center of N’Zoth’s eye resembling a creature in an egg. It also reflects back to her circlet floating off her head and surrounding the sun.

Ur both mistaken. It was that Moment she told him no that she will die after shes been useful. Old Gods are powerful , but powerless against free strong will. At that moment N'Zoth coudent Take over her cause she had The highground. Thats why he send her Back into The water to die. A few Moments later Azshara realise she will die and Panic and fear takes over her strong free will. In this Moment The old God Strikes ...."saves" her and Transforms her. There it was what He needed a door to her mind. From this on everything shes doing, she does IT cause He wants IT. And when sehe becomes useless......well he made her ....he can take it...

I do not think Azshara ever had the highground in first place. She speaks while not knowing, beliving she would be her only servant, but at that time, N'Zoth already had Deathwing in his hands. Moreover, why would N'Zoth "physically" attack Azshara with his tentacles, if he could let her die but drawning? N'Zoth is the smartest of the Old Gods, he woudn't low himself to personally kill someone. For what I can see in the video, alongside with the "Magnificent" N'Zoth says at the end, I can only suppose N'Zoth orchestrated the whole dialogue.

I love how they did the drums and wind instruments, it reminds me of how in Lovecraft’s lore the elder god, Azathoth, is kept in a deep slumber by “the maddening beating of vile drums and thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.”

If the "Nothing" was a thing, you would find the same same word used in foreign translations. In the French version, Azshara says "Un dieu oublié" : Litteraly "a forgotten god" instead of god of nothing. In the broken shore, Guldan says "...qui s'est sacrifié pour du vent" : Litteraly "who sacrificed for some wind". Same meaning as "for nothing", but not the same word. Finaly, in lordaeron, Sylvanas says "Votre victoire est vaine" : Litteraly "your victory is vain". So in my opinion, there is nothing in the "nothing" (haha). The word is just stronger in english language.

We didn't see Yogg Saron or C'thun. We saw a tiny surfacing part of them. They're mainly under the surface. They're massive beings that have their own quarters of the world but they're super attached to the planet. When Yash'raj was ripped off he created the Well of Eternity. So they're kind of like plughole blocking thingies. The reason the Titans didn't get rid of all the old gods is because they knew detaching the old gods means damaging the world soul.

No, that's because she realized she still needed to breathe and she slowly started to panic, thinking her gambit didn't work out and that she was gonna drown right there. You can notice from the bubbles and the way her face changes every time she opens her mouth.

Yes! I'm a Lovecraft fanatic. While I've always enjoyed the Old God lore in WoW, I've always felt it kind of... Weak? Like they were attempting Lovecraft horror. This video is amazing. Almost Cthulhu himself. Oh my God, I can't wait to N'zoth in game. Yoggy's fight was batshit insane at release, I really hope they stick to the deep sea, horror vibe with N'zoth whenever his fight becomes available.

Honestly? Old Gods are Lovecraftian, yeah yeah. But the MOST Lovecraftian shit in the entire game so far is essentially Kul Tiras on whole. Just these little seaside townhouses, filled with paintings of ancestors, who just so happen to involve squids. These cults hidden in plain sight. THAT is pure Lovecraftian. Exploring the slums of Boralus is the most basic, fundamental Lovecraftian vibes we've gotten yet.

I still find it hilarious people think Azshara came out on top here. "The drowned gods heart is black ice.", as if N'zoth was *actually* furious with her, as if she *actually* outsmarted and 'roasted' him. Dude was playing to her ego, clearly. @@MissildineOnline It was more so the fact of it isn't as if she totally outsmarted N'zoth or anything. His original offer was to simply keep her alive and turn her into the badass fishgirl she is now. He gives her what she wants, changing her people along with her, considering that's only a further benefit for him. I think it's most clear after the two stop talking. Azshara looks smug, proud of herself for "outwitting a god". But, nothing happens, the darkness starts to close in around her, she can't breathe, you can see the panic and anxiety building. It's like N'zoth is letting her know her place in the last moment before changing her. For note, I do love Azshara, I just feel like people get too caught up in her smug ego to read between the lines and consider who precisely is speaking in the cutscene.

Y'sharrj was the size of the maelstrom, C'thun and Yogg-Saron only seem 'small' because they did not break out of their titan prisons - we only fought a tiny tiny piece of C'thun and Yogg-Saron, peeking through the bars. Their bodies are basically tumors that run throughout all of Azeroth. Here's hoping N'Zoth breaks them out and we bear witness to the Black Empire!

So...some questions and my assumptions: 1. Whose voice (female) does Azshara first hear? [her own inner voice of doubt or someone else's?' 2. This is a slightly different version of what we used to have as lore, right? I could be wrong, but I thought Azshara made this deal before the waves starting drowning the palace, with knowledge that they'd be transformed into Naga. Of course, I never understood how the ingame lore books could have witnesses to certain events like this one. ;)

can't wait until the boss fight where we take a superazerite injection, fight N'zoth's 1236th tentacle and then the end cinematic where sylvanas uses the dark dinnerplate of destiny to banish him forever. No, but seriously I hope they make N'zoth feel way to powerful for us to beat, and that he has a subtle, but major (if that makes sense) presence in the game going forward. I'd hate for him to end up as a simple bossfight

They may retcon this, but I believe Nazjatar was a city *built* by the Naga, so I don't think that Nazjatar and Ny'alotha are the same. That said, I'm pretty certain that was Ny'alotha that N'zoth showed Azshara.

In fact Old Gods can't be killed. Even Titans could'nt kill em without destroying whole Azeroth so it means that we gonna fight Yogg-Saron and C'Thun soon, again, again and again without ending.

Once again Blizzard excels, they never cease to amaze me, the art is great, the storyline flows well, I think she will make a perfect villain, I have often wished for a more detailed history of the naga, now I understand much better, I want to sympathize with her plight, but she brought it on herself when she made that first deal and wound up destroying the well, but apparently she didnt learn her lesson the first time cause here she is making another deal, this time with an old god, she is so power hungry, she is willing to sacrifice her people to save her crown. Are the Elemental Lords supposed to be able to compete with the old gods or are the old gods way out of the elemental lords' league? I would assume the Old gods are much more powerful?

Have a theory that it was Neptulon who caused that Tsunami we saw at the start. Guess he could've been corrupted so he now serves N'Zoth or something. -I don't think we've seen him since cata- so I wouldn't be surprised if he was re-shaped or reborn like Azshara. I guess N'zoth could've easily made the wave too, but I doubt he would do it himself. Edit: I realise Neptulon actually managed to escape from Ozumat, but I wouldn't be surprised if N'zoth managed to capture him again.

The elemental lords were NOT created by the old gods Genghis. they existed long before the old gods ever landed on Azeroth. In fact, once the Old Gods arrived the four Elemental Lords banded together to fight them and lost horribly, and ended up serving them to save their own lives.
