I saw Aztec Camera open for Elvis Costello on the "Punch The Clock" tour in September 1983 at the Universal Amphitheater in LA. Great show! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Love the bassline of this tune, what great musicians. All the gear used in this video is sweet too, was not expecting to see a Fairlight digital synthesizer, too cool.

The Guitar technique and chord structure in this song are beautiful. The fact that Roddy Frame developed this level of musicality is awe inspiring. Great work.

Johnny Marr said this song spurred him on to write This Charming Man but I could never hear it, just a very uplifting melody and lyric.

You can hear it in the jangly Chic guitar bits, not the song itself. Also the end of the guitar solo is very similar, it’s in there.

Just the tiniest snippet of Bauhaus at the start of this - if memory serves me well… I had this on VHS, I think it was an OGWT compilation show, and their live version of Ziggy Stardust preceded this performance. Or am I misremembering?!
@ScottishTeeVee2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, it was a Best of the year show, which ran for about 90mins, I recorded the full show and still have it all. It was also the very last time the original theme tune was used, as the theme song change and was rebranded as "Whistle Test"

@@ScottishTeeVee I also remember a Joni Mitchell performance near the Bauhaus/Aztec Camera clips. Always say it, but keep up the good work - excellent channel!
