One of the most insulting things about the Azteca story ending is that the reason you failed is that you didn't get to Morganthe in time. Well yeah, no wonder you didn't get to Morganthe in time, there are so many pointless quests holding you up that how COULD you?? And the game then blames YOU for it.

I think the story just feels like a drag and the world is so lengthy that it drains the motivation to quest there. Places like Polaris and Empyrea are definitely a staple of what the worlds should consist of.

khrysalis is surpisingly less painful even though it’s longer. i had a better time questing through khrysalis on my storm than in azteca. it’s crazy.

Wife and I have talked about this a lot. There's a spiral door, why aren't we evacuating the people? Or even after getting to the arcanum, could we not find a solution to xibalba? Wish there was a questline to wrap that up.

If you ask me, it's for same reason we can't go to other worlds til the beginning of the World's arcs. In order to use a World Door, you need a Spiral Key. And it is hinted at several times that once a person goes through a Spiral Door, no-one else can follow. They'd need a Spiral Key too. We have some, but we don't know anyone on Azteca who does. Admittedly tho, I can see several ways around this problem.

At first sight, I loved Azteca because I liked the aesthetics and design of the world. But when I found out that Azteca was the second longest world in w101, I immediately hated Azteca more than any world even Khrysalis. Azteca’s story absolutely doesn’t make any sense until you get to twin giants and Xibalba. Here’s a comparison: Avalon has a clearly defined story and you as the wizard go to Avalon to get the sword of kings so that you can use that sword to fight morganthe. In dragonspyre, your trying to get to Malistaire Drake and defeat him as you go to the inner rings of Dragonspyre. What does Azteca have? Non, I have no idea why we are in Azteca in the first place

we went there because some dude in marleybone found azteca after thinking that it was destroyed by xibalba and a quetzel came and asked for help and we went. Then we had to go after what morganthe was going for in the pyramids but we always got beaten to it and at the end we just lose so xibalba destroys azteca

That's funny cuz I usually fly thru Azteka, I never realized how long it actually is and I presume I never did because I really enjoy the aestetic and soundtrack of that world. On the other hand, Celestia, although having only 95 main quests feels so lenghty and boring to me, I hate doing it. I never really disliked Krysalis either, once again, I feel like I'm flying thru it because I enjoy that world. I guess it all comes down to personal preferences. Different strokes for different folks. P.S.: I love listening to you rambling about wiz, it's so comforting.

I remember when Azteca came out years ago and I was so amazed, and I still am, of the visual and world design and the music was amazing! But when it came to questing it took so long and you get tired of it in the long run which is really sad when it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing worlds. They could've definitely made it shorter!

The amount of quests is annoying but it wouldn’t be so hard if the bosses weren’t so freaking tough for the gear you have. I think everybody’s battle which there is one every other fight it was like a 50/50 shot whether I died or not with the best gear at that level.

There are things I like about Azteca mainly the ending, its the only world that reprisents a loss for the wizard and builds up how morganthe is this strong scary antagonist. Granted I wish KI was better at writing such a story but hey I have my imagination.

i actually love the idea of the story so the fact not everything includes the story doesn’t annoy me because i’m working through something and getting more of the story, i like the idea of what happens in tiera de brea but i’m weird, the world looking amazing and just carries so much of the world, i think the big thing they could do to make it an amazing world is to remove twin giants cos it’s boring and looks ugly we can do the xibalba thing in a different area they also need to shorter the first part of the world. i weirdly love azteca and enjoy questing through it because it’s fun to be in 🤷‍♂️

I just finished solo questing in Azteca on my balance and I wasn't a fan of the world but after questing through it again, it just made me love the world. One of my favorite worlds now behind Khrysalis mainly because I like the areas and music in Azteca. I also didn't really mind the length of the world and found the storyline boring and interesting at the same time. So not really boring just simple ig. Going to 3 pyramids pretty much. I also dont know why but it didnt really feel that long.

I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes Azteca, a lot of people like to ramble on about how hard it is, and yea it's pretty difficult early on, but the astral spells make it so much easier later on, though in my case I'm usually over leveled by the time I reach it, starting around 85/86 for my wizards.

Shame becuase Ateca has some of the most creative cool looking designs in the spiral. Also the Azteca spells you unlock you sick. It's the perfect level where you acesses to great spells, great gear, without getting shadow aoe spam with 100+ plus damage of later worlds. But the combat doesn't take advantage of that at all.

Completely agree. Azteca has every puzzle piece to make a good world and it just doesnt execute at all. Combat feels slow and sluggish and the quests arent nearly as fun as ideal.

@@KaiserNoah the absolute most gorgeous world in arc2 pretty much every area is better than any area in every other arc2 world on that regard. Elephant graveyard is a notable exception. Decent soundtrack. Has some challenging bosses, unlike the cakewalk of Avalon and Zafaria (sans final dungeon). It's nice that you backtrack to previous areas instead of just zoom zoom never see it again. Finally get some gear upgrade from lvl 54-60, bazaar robe, crafted hat, I wanna say maybe bazaar boots too. Sometimes dropped ring or athame. Expansion of astral magic including sharpen blade and potent trap. The UFOs are small and not super obvious which made it really fun exploring and looking for them.
