It’s about cost efficiency as well as loyalty to investors vs loyalty to players. Eververse armor purchased with silver is low cost to produce with higher returns than making items gained through playing.

I'm actually having fun with this gamemode, but that's also because the roaming super buff is very nice. I loved the Coil, but something about this mission isn't hitting me the same. I think it's just the fact that you're only being punished with the modifiers where in the Coil, you could upgrade yourself. I wish Contest of Elders had an in mission shop or something to make the gameplay more varied. They have the perfect recipe here for a proper endless Roguelite mode.

I honestly feel bad for the devs when it comes to this activity. Massively replayability had there been more new guns in the loot pool. Not bringing back any of the POE weapons from D1 is a monumental miss, but they also could’ve added Dreg’s Promise or a new Fallen-themed exotic that had a quest tied to the activity. I can’t see myself running this more than a few times just based on the lack of new loot.

I've done this once so far to complete the quest line. The match maker must have hooked me up with two really good guardians because I had zero clue what was going on and we got 3 chests every time, and 4 at the end. It is fun, at least at first. I'm sure it gets grind-like eventually like everything else.

How do you exceed past just green tonics? I kinda bouncing back and forth between the feist echo episode(act 3) and the beginning of the second act or episode 2. When are you able to make blue and purple tonics? And how?

Make six greens, you'll learn a blue. Make four blues, you'll learn a purple. Rinse repeat to unlock everything. Example- World Weapons & Armor tonic. You make six greens, you'll randomly learn either the blue 'World Weapons' tonic or the blue 'World Armor' tonic. Whichever one you learn, make six more greens, and then you'll learn the other. From there, start making four blues at a time, and you'll start unlocking the legendary tonics that are subdividing the loot pool further (allowing for target farming the loot via tonic). For World Weapons, i believe they split into purple item slot tonics (Kinetic, Energy, Power). So for Onslaught Salvation, there's the weapon pools' tonics. You start with green, which is the entire loot pool. 6 greens, you learn a blue (either the Revenant weapon tonic or the redux Splicer weapon tonic). Craft six more greens to unlock the other blue. Now you craft four of a blue to unlock one purple, which will be a specific weapon tonic. Keep crafting blue Revenant weapon tonics to subdivide that loot pool into all of the Revenant weapons, and craft blue Splicer weapon tonics to subdivide that loot pool into all of the Splicer weapons (Ignition Code, Chroma Rush, etc). Rinse repeat crafting four blues of a kind until you've learned all of its purple tonics it teaches.

I wish there was a larger loot pool and attunement like in onslaught at maybe a cost or if using specific weapon legendary/purple tonics had the same effect. I did it 8 times and while using the tonic for the SMG I had few runs where I didn’t get a single one. I don’t think I’ve gotten a single SMG from combatant kills or activity completions. The specific weapon tonics feels bugged and worthless with how little I’m actually pulling SMGs

I played today for 1st time since dungeon contest mode. Tried doing pinnacles for 1st time this season and got 5. All arms and kinetic weapons. Waste of time.

I’m buying/making tons of tonics and getting zero fieldwork. Starting to wonder if it’s bugged.

The buffs can overlap the challenge prompts, making it difficult to tell what to do. Very annoying when I’m getting shot by gun-bats.

I think the Gold/Silver/Bronze is backwards. I got Gold but only 1 chest as we had a lot of deaths and were nearly out of revives.
