For real. Even if I'm in the minority, I am so sick of power grinding. Its not playing the game, its number babysitting. I have many many weapons/loadouts I used for different things activities (and I am NOT a hoarder, very tool oriented), and I have still not gotten all of my regularly used gear to pinnacle. And just naturally let them happen and if I get a light upgrade in a slot I infuse it into something. Power doesn’t matter at all in anything outside of gms and trials anyways. TLDR: 1. Pinnacle cap boring 2. Make it resources that can be used for cool things like upgrading gear, redistributing stats or rerolling gear since that is universally useful. 3. Make in game player trade systems and marketplaces. Pvp player gets their 10th iron banner weapon god roll they don't need. Pve player gets god roll of something from nightfall or strike. They can just trade for a universal currency and then ise the currency to buy what they want from the content they dont wana run themselves. 4. Stop forcing players to run content they don't wana run to have the privilege of running the content they consider fun. Artificial gatekeeping like this makes the game tedious and boring for everyone especially those with limited time to play each day. Pinnacle grinding is so boring. It's removing player power and agency thinly disguised as you pursuing power to the next cap. But in practice it just means being able to do gm content one week and then being unable to do them the next week because you aren't at a high enough light. It's an endless hamster wheel of chasing a number and all the tedious infusing light into weapons and armor after that to keep us occupied. They call that FUN and CONTENT. No end game pvp or pve player wants to have to run strikes to qualify to do the content they really wana do. Stop with the gatekeeping of content we WANT to play behind content we DON'T wana play. If they really want a system that provides incentives for gambit and strikes they can give resources like a new material that can be used to reroll stats on gear or weapon perks. Or maybe something that allows you to upgrade a non adept weapon to an adept version. Or how about a token that after you aquire 50 allows you to redistribute some armor stats taking some points out of undesirable stats and putting it into what you want. There's sooo many other options that would provide compelling incentives for running boring content like strikes. Endlessly raising the power cap is just peeing on you and calling it rain. "Ooh look more power! Dont you want it?" while you are artificially restricted from doing the same content you were running the week before at the old pinnacle cap. Not to mention the rng factor that it introduces. Look at games like ESO. They started with the endless increases of loot gear level and realized it was dumb. So they stopped many years ago and gear no longer ever drops higher than level 50 cp 160. I stopped playing for months and came back and all my gear was still viable. Maybe my gear wasn't meta but it was still totally viable. They also stopped power creeping dps gear and the "meta" load outs are based on the encounters and situation. But old gear from like 2017 is still meta in many situations. People keep grinding older content like dungeons to get resources that they can reroll stats with to min max whatever build they are working on. This means the same resource is useful for pve and pvp players. It's also useful for content creators because they can try out whacky builds. Of course there is also an in game trade system where you can trade and sell items to other players for gold. And you can use the gold to get something else you want/need. An economy like thay would mean next time you randomly get a god roll or good stat armor for gear you will never use, you can sell it to other players for a resource and then buy the things you actually need! This would also make it so older content drops have value because there could be a market for it. Let's say pvp players dont wana grind strikes but they want this weapon. A pve strikes grinder can go get it and sell it to them for gold or whatever. Then the pve player can use that told to buy from another pvp player the gear they want from pvp thay they otherwise dont wana farm. Lets say the pve player wants iron banner gear but doesn't wana grind it. Well pvp players are already grinding that so they can at least sell the trash gear they get to players that cant grind iron banner. That's how you make old content and loot grinding interesting for all players.

Mixed feelings about power level increases. On the one hand, it should make for a more interesting contest mode dungeon. Having the continuing increase every season is also another reason to play destiny. That said, as a more casual player, I often find myself grinding all season, finally getting to max power, just for the next season to come out a few days later. Combo that with resetting artifact power and you have a system that punishes you for having a life outside of destiny. From there you need to spend several weeks at the start of a season just to not get kicked from fireteams. Even then you are 5 levels below the highest person, creating an environment where dozens of people are getting kicked from GM lobbies just so people can find a max level person to carry their power level. All that said, there are definitely reasons for the level increase to exist, but it is also another reason why it is hard for new players to get into destiny, which will one day turn into a nail in the coffin.

Gotta disagree on power grind cross. Power grind is just a stupid and unimaginative way for them to pad play time; and this is coming from a guy who has reached it almost every season in the past. I was so glad when they removed it because I didn't feel compelled to play D2 at any time and when I booted up the game, it was because I wanted to do something in the game. If they want us to play the game then their goal should be to make content that we want to play, not re-introduce old and time consuming grinds that were removed. To your point of other games wiping things in seasons, that's great but we aren't playing one of those games. I don't understand why people are so ok with being served shit and saying "oh, it could be worse". Great? Again, it's just a decision on Bungie's end to get the play time back up because they fumbled echoes so badly.

I’ve been trying to reach 2000 for three weeks, doing almost every pinacle challenge and I still can’t fucking drop a 2000 chest and gauntlet. And having to upgrade every weapon again is such a chore. Can anyone honestly tell me they like to grind for this shit? If nobody’s doing pinnacle challenge and activities, it’s because the loot is shit. Guve us something good to grind for. 70 stats armor pieces or adept weapons. The issue I had with Unbreakable was in order to have high uptime, you needed Offensive Bulwark for increased grenade regen, but you also needed high void overshield uptime for it to work. And the only reliable way to get void overshield was with Bastion or Edge of action. The problem was that Bastion + Bulwark was always more reliable and required less build focus than Unbreakable + Bulwark. But I believe that the oversheild and unbreakable buffs would massively help bring uptime closer to each other.

I never understood the gripe about hunter prismatic vs other classes. Titans can make ice javelins with no energy, warlocks can have at least one (sometimes 3-4) turrets up at all times... i don't know how people felt clones needed to be nerfed, or the void snare over consecration. One consecration will remove an entire room, and they can stack 3 of them.

As a titan main that quit playing the game due to the identity issue. The aggro change is a good change including the health of overshields. However, the only way to get the overshield in prismatic is from the shield throw. Why would you pick the shield throw for a full overshield when you can just kill them with your AOE blast from consecration. Shiver strike is still shiver strike and will never pick it. Give titans another reason to pick something else other then consecration. Prismatic titan needs, sol invictus, bastion, burning maul instead of those hammers. Then I'll jump back in the game!

The kinds of playstyles, lke above, already benefit from certain stats more on certain classes already. For instance no hunter ever puts stats into strength, its pointless so why would buffilg the stats that each class uses specifically give you lesss options? How would buffing mobility so hunters could get higher teir benefits out of it limit buildcrzfting anymore than the current system does? The problem with the current system is precisely that it doesnt give unique benefits equally. His idea is good but needs an addition as well. Stats like mobility and strength should have benefits beyond just effecting your cooldown teirs like how resilience effects titans class cooldown but also has a broad benefit. It's funny because titans WERE tanks in D1. There was a time where if you maxed out armor, you could survive a sticky grenade in PVP. But then they increased the damage of all sticky grenades. If you used fist of havok with max armor stat and the perk that stated "harder to kill while using FoH", you could survive a non celestial nighthawk golden gun shot with a liver of health. But then they increased the golden gun damage. The way the overshield in D1 worked also made you very hard to kill with the "always regenerates" perk. As long as you had a sliver of overshield left, it would constantly regen until the timer ended. D1 titans did feel tanky up until they decided that they shouldn't be and that carried over into D2.

The Golden Gun buff is pointless if it doesn’t apply to bosses too. The whole problem of Golden Gun right now is that Base Gun does pathetic damage. It basically NEEDS nighthawk or Star Eater to be useful. For context against the Ogre in Grasp (this boss is used often in Damage testing): Twilight Arsenal does ~544000 at base Nova Bomb dies ~472000 at base Golden Gun does 279791 at base (all 3 headshots. As you can imagine this get significantly lower if you hit a body shot or miss even one shot). Even with Radiant it only does 350000 (assuming you land 3 headshots). In my opinion Golden Gun should get a flat 30% buff rather than only to combatant. That would bring it closer to Nova Bomb. As things stand now it feels so pointless to use Golden Gun unless I am using Nighthawk or Star Eater. Even then, if Warlock and Titans use Star Eater the clear Golden Gun by a mile.

They should make the hammers like a boomerang , kinda like threaded spike. Ricochet to multiple mobs and the hammer comes back to you (if caught it gives a little super charge back to balance the time wasted while waiting for it to return). So you can choose to blow your load and dump them all at a boss for damage or space them out for add clear. Make player choices matter agian!

While it would probably devalue the modules to the point of just getting rid of them, it would be interesting to see a system where you can within the vault use a weapon and a module to upgrade all weapons of that type in the vault to that level, i.e. feed a max level scout rifle to level all your scouts in the vault. You could break it down further to weapon archetype etc to retain some addition usage of modules but you would still only need so many to max out everything you own
