So I've been playing warframe since I finished final shape, and I'm kicking myself for not getting into it sooner. All the content is free and feels very substantial. Granted warframes versi9n of story is much different than that of destiny, more of a shower than a teller. I'm glad you're giving it a try, slight spoiler but there's an area where you get a mech, I couldn't figure out how to farm it but you're smarter than I so maybe give it a look before buying the mech. It's mandatory for the story, so I felt pressure to buy it. Duviri is a lot of fun if you like rouge likes and you can access it from the beginning 😉

As someone who has over 5k hours in Warframe… THAT SHIP WAS CRAZYYYYYY Like most people put up decorations randomly or in an area, but that dude RE DESIGNED THE INTERIOR which comes in blocks so he had to basically build a bunch of the same decorations to create that interior effect. Also to take in consideration that the majority of those decorations had to be earned in game by playing. Various can be bought but it’s not all of them.

After I ended 10 year relationship with destiny in final shape I installed warframe to try it and I thought I would only play for 10-20 hours, I proceeded to play every day and put 180 hours and still not done with the quests, also I enjoyed all the content without buying any weapons or warframes (with real money), I unlocked many weapons and warframes all for free, amazing game with amazing dev team and community.

You know, when I started playing Warframe all the way back in 2013 I said to myself pretty much the same thing:"It's a nice game but I doubt I'll be playing it much". Now, nearly 12 years and 3380h played later, it' my most played game ever and by a LONG stretch and I wouldn't have it any other way. Something I can tell you is that the first 500-1000h of Warframe are basically the tutorial as you clear the starchart and do the few quests here and there. The real game kicks in once you hit the outer planets. I won't spoil it but I can assure you, you're up for a treat.

I started late 2017, misunderstood the UI for market pages and thought everything was purchased with premium currency, and quit. Started again a year later because something in my belly told me I'd made a mistake and also I was poor and wanted to play something cheap, and realised where to obtain blueprints. And then the devs realised my story wasn't unique and changed the market pages to show blueprints better. I have over 2000 in mission hours, and absolutely many thousands of hours more just chilling in the orbiter sharing builds and finding the right shade of gold for my metallics.

I dont feel like warframe is boring at all, theres always something to do in the game. Waiting for something to craft? Go farm some mods, farm endo to upgrade those mods, make a new builds, grind standings, try out new content, unlock new missions, farm prime parts, farm resources to craft even more things. Or is it the grind itself that's boring because takes too long? Or is it just a gameplay that make it boring? Are you not having fun when mowing down hordes or enemies? Do you not like the power fantasy that this game gives you? Do you want to struggle? Do you want it to be more tactical? Take cover from gunshots, avoid getting snipe? Well, theres not much of that in warframe, movement is the greatest feature of the game afterall. Or is it the lack of pvp? Its been like that for along time now, and i dont think DE will give much attention of it, and the playerbase doesnt like pvp to begin with. Anyway, im just curious.

I made the leap from d2, and its been a really fun ride getting up to speed in warframe. Also, the devs have a good longstanding rep with the community that intrigued me. There is always something to chase or do and the grind often feels more rewarding with lots of economies to chase gear in. I love d2 for fps gameplay, but its easy to choose warframe to play instead these days.

Same for me; 10 years of destiny, but in July I finally jumped into Warframe after not having picked it up since about 2014... I was blown away by how good it was. I like the fact that there is some long term grinding for weapons/frames, but the missions themselves never feel like a slog so it doesn't get boring as fast as D2. Like I'd much rather run 4-5 missions in WF to get blueprints for a new frame vs run one 2 hour dungeon in D2 for a ~chance~ at an exotic or weapon roll.

Yeah the devs do have a good longstanding rep with the community and the community protects that relationship. Don't think you're gonna come over to Warframe and start demanding shit like content creators did over there with Bungie. This community while very kind and welcoming will run you out of it just as fast as they welcomed you if you threaten what they have with the devs.

@@airsoul366 Agree fully. Steve did great turning this game from a fairly standard 3rd person slow farming game into a vast open sea of imagination. But it was clear his ability to keep that pace was slowing down. Rebecca and Pablo have doubled the magnitude and gone above and beyond the call of duty. It's really refreshing to be part of a community that's so in agreement how bright the future is, because especially for live services nowadays, it's so rare for that to be the case.

blame it on their engine. warframe can do it, because they are an insane dev studio from the way back when of gaming. their core devs are high up on engine optimization. which allows them to add whatever they want. destiny cant do the same, because they prioritized the graphical powerhouse of their engine above everything else. and that cost them customization. which is why warframe can add multiple weapon types, mechanics and insane revamps of gameplay, while destiny needs 10 times the time to add each new zone. this is also why they gave up on destiny 3, because they would need to ditch their engine, and they invested too much into it so for them it was easier to just keep pushing. another comparison is how destiny NEED to cut content to keep its file size at the border of the acceptable, meanwhile warframe can just cut down on file sizes with theirs cache optimization.

MOAR! I know 100 hours is a lot, but with the community it might take closer to 60/75, and there are some decent chunks of story dripped in there to keep it interesting. Part of that 100 hours? You gotta learn the systems the game is based on. Every time you think you've got a handle on modding, you come up against a level wall and dive a bit deeper into damage calcs and builds. It's a very rewarding gameplay loop IMO. Do the activities, get the stuff, build it, do higher level activities, get better stuff, build it, etc. etc. EDIT: Everything you need to progress in this game is available with some patience and elbow grease. Nothing, except a few exceptions like community made cosmetics, is locked behind a paywall.

It's also worth noting that even all the cosmetics can technically be earned for free because of the trading system. All it takes is some relic grinding and some luck or a lot of relic grinding w/o crackin em and you can shark around the market for the plat you need

Here a tip: Don’t delete weapons, frames or vehicles until they reach max rank. most reach 30 but some go a little higher Once they’re maxed delete to free up slots. Slots can be acquired free through Nightwave( there version of a season pass), But I’m sure the community will gift you slots

Cross! I started my Warframe journey right around the time you covered the wake up call video that LegendaryDrops did. It’s an understatement to say that it has far exceeded my expectations and I’ve only clocked 120+ hours. My only advice is to be very careful to not spoil any major plot points in regards to the story. For me, specifically at the conclusion of The New War quest line, I was viscerally shocked. In a way that no recent video game narrative has been able to accomplish. That’s when I knew I was hooked.

Something amazing about these devs is that they usually put found "bugs" (not all bugs obviously) and turn them into features the movement in this game was originally very stiff and someone in the community found a bug to move quickly and instead of fix the bug they changed the movement system and thats what we have in warframe now and its improved all of its systems over time to become something i think every free to play game should strive to be. It is utterly insane that this game is FREE

Aztecross, I promise you, you’ll have fun with this game. Take it from someone who straddles that line of being a Tenno and a Guardian, this game is gas. I hope nobody spoils you on anything, and I truly do hope you enjoy the baller community this game has. J-Just avoid region chat. It’s not exactly nuclear waste toxic, it’s more mind bogglingly bizarre. My advice is to just take your time with this game. Learn everything about the systems and don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’ve almost 800 hours in this game and I’m **still** learning.

I played Warframe back in 2013 / 2014 for almost an year. Stopped at the end of 2014 and started Destiny. Back then i had a few maxed out prime frames and weapons / mods (also apparently our clan of people who all stopped playing at that time has build a huge ass dojo). Went back a couple of days ago with the idea to try 1999 ... and my goddd ... what the hell happened here. I thought Destiny 2 is a huge game ... this is some next level shit of layer above layer of mechanics. Started all the story quests (back then there were no story quests) from scratch with my Frost Prime and old loadout. I'm now at "Whispers in the Walls" and it starts to feel kind of semi challenging, before that everything dies even before i look at it :D

Another thing to account for a that these may be beginner tenno experience. They’re probably using mk-1 weaponry with basic or no mods, no arcanes, no pet buffs, no archon shards. Bare bones warframe and beginner weaps

I dont know if it was told to you yet but, where you look when you bullet jump (the jump from crouch) will affect how high you jump. You want to look a little above the floor before you bullet jump to be get the farthest jump when moving forward through a level. It'll also help when you need to jump directly up to get to high places. Changing how high you look will help control how you move through a level. Have fun man

@@Daemonic6 I'd sort of argue that buildcrafting is kind of 50/50 between Destiny and Warframe. Destiny has more customization via Exotic armor, subclasses, artifacts, and their synergies. Warframe you have Augment mods but that's ultimately it. All the other mods simple change efficiency/strength of your frame so you can build it to be more tanky, glass cannon, etc but ultimately their abilities and general play style don't change much. Even with Archons and Arcanes. So where Destiny has diversity in subclasses, artifacts each season, and Exotic armor? Warframe has it in the variety of different frames and Augments they add. So I'd say they're fairly close in that regard.

tldr: the main difference between warframe and destiny is warframe is a power fantasy. you are not a soldier in a cosmic war, you are the ender of the war. now as much as i love warframe over destiny i cant really recommend it for destiny players. the things you love about destiny arent really prevalent in warframe. the main difference is of course the gameplay. safe to say destiny players enjoy the thrill of being in a war against factions with different enemy types and ways to combat different units, however warframe is a horde shooter, even the heavy units melt under your immense power, and the heaviest units just take a bit longer. theres no emphasis on teamwork, theres support frames, tanks, dps and everything in between, but most ppl will build to be self sufficient in all categories, and you can given the many, MANY options for upgrading your arsenal and tweaking your build to your exact liking. there are no boss mechanics, there are no legendary raids with random loot drops. the main focus of warframe compared to destiny is buildcrafting. the warframes are powerful, more powerful than any gaurdian, and the dopamine you get from this game is from feeling like a god, rather than defeating insurmountable odds.

I'd say the only thing wrong is there being no team work emphasis (which is honestly debatable) and bosses having no mechanics. Eidolon hunts have mechanics to them, Zarimon Angels have light mechanics, some of the planetary bosses and the Razorback Armada have even lighter mechanics
