Your craft mat is starting to look like a space navigator's chart. it's got an eclipse, some distant stars and nebulas. Lol! Great video as always. And congratulations on your masks being used in the March issue of Fine Scale Modeler magazine! To the top!

Your weird week is our pleasure to watch. Rode right along on your enthusiastic wave. Seems to me this is more like what you used to do-- where you had a locked off camera POV and we would watch you get the work done. I like it coming back. Interesting to see your color choices-- I may be imagining that I can "see" what you see-- I have been watching this through this chain of cameras and monitors for a while. I am now most curious about the "misting" layer later. I spotted your heap o" junk-- the stuff on your L table -- a while back and felt a deeper kinship. Your model room is daunting and awe-worthy, but thank God you have heaps of mish-mash all over too. But! Funny pat-on-the-back moment was when I spotted a corner of a large Martian War Machine (from the movie) and recognized it instantly. Nerd attack. And I wonder what it's doing on the floor. Progressing rather quickly, delays and all-- looking good.

A "clean" studio is a sign of a deranged mind. What's more deranged is to ask: When you're done, wanna come over my place and clean too? And the scary part is I think I know WHY you're "cleaning" the studio. (how far does one go on Deranged Road before insanity?) Kudos to that! Nice you're taking the plunge! The resin is warm. Just don't drown in it like have filament has wrapping me up like a mummy. I like the fact you went back to an old kit and made justice to it. Well done, Lou, on the C.

Beautiful work on the masking! Will have to get a set for my clear Yamaguchi. That pleasant Vallejo smell you mentioned, that's propylene glycol. It's a mild alcohol sometimes used as a sweetener among other things. Don't know about Mecha Color, but it's used in Vallejo's Model Air and thinners. I always smell candy when I spray it.

Hey Lou, watch out for the necell wing corners,as they tend to crack even after they are painted, so reinforce those corners. And trenching out the wing will help with getting the 2 halves to join together better . Also the seam on the saucer needs reinforcing to stop cracking even after it has been painted. Hope this helps.

Off to a great start Lou!! The painting is looking really good. I did't realize there were so many different shades of color on the C. Can't wait to see the lighting solution with the fiber you were telling me about. I got my new FineScale Modeler today and I'm looking forward to reading Aaron's article.

Awesome paint job on the C's primary hull; looking forward to seeing how you finish this one out. Also, the drama around your work space woes was riveting! BTW on an unrelated note, Walmart is selling an exclusive electronic Robby The Robot; it walks, it talks, it's a mechanical marvel and it's selling for a paltry $20. Might make a nice companion piece to that awesome C57D you put together a while a go. I believe there's also an electronic Iron Giant for sale there as well for the same price.

Hi Lou! Love your work. You seem to struggle with cutting chases for insulated wire. Consider using thin strips of adhesive-backed aluminum duct tape from any home improvement store. Separation between the strips provides insulation. (Think, printed circuit board.)

@TonyDP2128
@TonyDP2128 4 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering about the operating status Lou's CED player myself. I used to have one of those many, many years ago. I remember my brother, my father and I trudging thru the snow in the winter to pick it up at Lechmere. I even remember the very first disc we bought for it: Star Trek: The Menagerie.

Awesome job, as always, Lou! The paint scheme for this particular ship has always been my bugaboo.....One question....would it be a space-saver to have your nav lights and strobe lights as fiber-optics with colored (or clear) lenses and run to either a strobe or regular bulb? That could help with your lack of space through your nacelle pylons.Just wondering...keep up the great work!

Why do you five to six wires for the nacelles? Could you not just one set for the strobes and one for steady lights? Making it three to four lights. The the fixed light wire splits into two strands for the different colors with different resistors. Would that not work just as well?
@aztekdummy
@aztekdummy 4 жыл бұрын
the way the lighting board is configured, I need 2 each for the nav, strobe & front bussard. they all use the same common positive so that worked out to 4 wires total (1 pos and 3 neg) the blue warp engine strip lighting needs it's own dedicated 2 wires because I runs on straight 9v. so 6 grand total
