I also had Adam's Atomic City kit but found areas around the feet and the brass tubing to have problems. I didn't mind the clean up and puttying. I had terrible luck, though, and an unused iron laundry sink that was only used for storage where I kept the 1/4 built Aries while I searched for tubing started filling with clog water from the kitchen sink, then worse, draino water was backing into that sink without us knowing it. I had to toss everything that was stored in it. Now I know what the b stood for.

Hi Lou. Love your builds mate, hours of enjoyment. Regarding Sprue Letters. My eyesight isn't what it used to be, so I use masking tape to make a label tag for each sprue. I then take a sharpie and write a large A, B..C or whatever it is on the label.. This has saved me hours over the years. I can see which sprue it is without having to go hunting and squinting.

Hi Lou. Great news on the health front 👍 Nice little clip of ELO. A DJ over here in the UK used to call it "Hump day Wednesday" on the grounds that once you are over it the rest of the week is downhill! I think you'll find the "little engine bells" are called the RCS - Reaction Control System and have been on space vehicles since long before 2001 or 1999. Love spotting your little movie quotes and paraphrases but you missed an opportunity - "Damn dirty engines"! Looks like a really nice kit and being able to lift the top off would be cool but I think it's too impractical especially if the ceiling is going to be lit. As always, looking forward to next week 👍😁

$225?! Ouch! That hurts. I loved the ship design. But it's big with the interior! A 1/72 $100 version would be nice... That's out of many people's price range. :( But overall, its a LOT of model for that price! The side door as its own part is GREAT. That means the 3rd party market can make an internal room!

Expecting a lot from this kit -- and you! Quite a lot given. We've been waiting a lo-o-ong time for this. Too bad the price point has to be so high-- some of it is understandable. The model producing community seems to have needed to go through some evolution before it was ready to produce such a large and complex, thick-and-thin sort of arrangement. Fascinating to see how much engineering went into all the moving parts. And-- that you kept them moving. Very much looking forward to next week's installment.

Lou, Regarding the weight issue...depending on the base you choose, maybe a small metal rod up thru the center of the base into the bottom of Aries. Just enough to relieve weight on the gear. Toothpick size would do it. Hide it in a puff of thruster smoke :)
