I have a 2017 Buick Encore. I got a P0299 code last September. I tried all the checks recommended by various mechanics. I came to the conclusion it has a bad turbo - at less than 40,000 miles. I recently received a letter from GM that if the vehicle has a bad turbo before 10 years or 120,000 miles, GM will replace it. It's been at the dealer 3 weeks now. They have determined it's a bad turbo. They're really dragging their feet, but I hope they will replace it. Obviously, GM has lost a lawsuit.

Update: I just got my car back, after 5 weeks at the dealership. They replaced the turbo and related parts. Cost: $0.00

This is literally what I am hoping for our 2018 Encore that is throwing this P0299 code. ONLY because it will be covered then and not something else to pay for. Thanks for the additional bit of hope for Monday's appointment 🤞🏼

Where can I find that GM letter? I have tve same come on 2016 Buick with 117000 miles 😅

@@simoncesABCthey should send you that letter in the mail but considering your 3k miles away from voiding the turbo warranty I'd set up an appointment at your local dealer. They most likely gonna make you pay diagnostics fee between $100-$200. Call and tell them your mechanic said your turbo are bad but he told you they are still under manufacturer warranty...

I just had this code after fixing my car for timing chain cover leak. The code came together with P227900 Intake Air System Leak. I can hear the air leaking (loud hissing noise) when paddling above 2.4k rpm. This is not common. Need to further checking with the mechanic tomorrow. The mechanic suspect have issue with the N75 air hose vent. Need to further diagnose. I am driving 2013 Jetta. Thanks for your tutorial.

I had a similar issue but it ended up being a turbo clamp for mine. Replaced it myself and my turbo has been boosting normally

Can low boost pull oil from the corrugated PCV hose to the intak manifold and ON the oil light?

Hi I have a 2013 dodge dart rallye 1.4 turbo I have that code sometimes when I drive I loose power I just pull over turn off the car then turn on and drives like nothing happened it could loose power in less than 2 minutes or I can do a 2 to 8 hours drive with no problem any idea you can think it is

I have a 2022 Chevy Trax that has a po299 code coming on I buy the most expensive oil that I can but then I also bought some oil additive for the turbo pretty brand new turbo it's not making any sounds I don't really seem to be having lots of power I don't know what I could be I do feel like I'm having problems with the wastegate controller that would be fairly hard to push an open and close by hand right

If you pos is an Audi, look at your coolant pump and see if the vacuum line is full of coolant.

I can't understand how I got a brake job 3 weeks ago then 2 weeks later all the lights in the dash of my 2022 Honda Accord are on. I have 162k miles on it and have taken good care. Now this trouble. They're telling me it's 2400 to repair it at the dealer. In face all the codes state "see dealer "

Yes usually you can diagnose a problem with another code If there is one. As long as they appear close together in on the timeframe that it happened on.

@Beast-rz9cd What was the issue specifically? Bad blades? Scratch up housing? Hard to believe the entire turbo needs to be replaced unless you're getting one pulled over your eyes by the mechanic

Just got this code on my wifes 2018 equinox. I got the P0299 and P0132 Permanent O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1 Air filter was pretty dirty, would the P0299 code cause the P0132 code? The car only has 38k miles.

Iv got a 2019 Chevy cruise with the p0299 underboost how can I find what to fix with out buying a new turbo .it only reduces power when taking off from stop .an runs fine Untill I stop again it acts like it is sluggish also

They likely are separate issues, but I would clean the MAF sensor, clear the codes, and see if they come back.

I am receiving error code P0299 in my 2020 1.6 Diesel Opel Insignia vehicle. I can't solve it. Turbo was overhauled, Particle filter was overhauled. Turbo hose changed. But the problem did not go away? Maf sensor and egr valve changed. Please can you help me

I have a 2005 T1N 2500 van.. I got this P0299 code. I couldn’t find a leak and also I hear the leak only after I drive for an hour or 2 and then all of a sudden I hear it leak and my turbo don’t kick in. I have to turn on and off my engine and then it works fine for 30 to 40 miles and same thing repeats.. any idea what might be the issue?

Bro I get that problem too on my Chevy trax 2018 1.4 lit 4cylinder, it will come on for a little bit then turn off for a while, so I assumed it might be sensor related or something with the waste gate

I had the same problem before .Check the bottom hose that is going to the intercooler that's usually gets sucked or loose
