this episode was so good it combines a lot of episodes but does them all justice. they said they had to do it not for time sake but money. and i think most stuff they added to the show works really wel and a lot of the stuff they left out you could left out. It will never beat the cartoon but they never tried to beat it they tried to make make it a lifeaction and they did a pretty damm good job imo.

I thought it was excellent how they combined characters/episodes that deal with the effects of war in this one. The war has been brought to Omashu already (this does have consequences on how the next episode is written) and the show brings in two characters who have been deeply affected by it. Jet has been radicalized by war and the Mechanist has been forced to collaborate with the enemy. I also really enjoyed how Azula has been brought into the show early and how the Fire Lord is being shown to pit his children against one another.

I love how they combine what could have been seen as filler episodes. They could have skipped them, but they implemented some lesson learned from that for our characters.
