Great introduction to the simple tools necessary for plan drawing in Rhino. Given that Rhino is particularly useful in terms modelling, it was good to explore and learn the ropes of another function for this program, potentially eliminating the need for continuous cross-program uploading and transfering

This is well done but it can also be done by using the Make2d command and screenshotting whatever view you want into a plan drawing. Will be a lot easier!!!

I'm afraid I would be violating a series of copyright issues if I published the plans, but they are available from most books on the work of Tadao Ando. Hope you find the plans, and happy 3d modeling.

I'm stuck at the part where I'm trimming the smaller rectangles that would become the windows. ( 2:59 ) When I trim, I delete the curve that creates the larger rectangles. What am I doing wrong? I'm also new to Rhino, so sorry if I made a dumb mistake :P

@David: I'm not sure you are able to customize that particular combination since I believe ctrl+LMB is used for subtracting elements from your selection. I find myself struggling with similar issues switching between SketchUp, Rhino and 3dsmax. Hope you find a solution.

I might be wrong, but isn't the plan in centimeters? You are taking those numbers as if they are millimeters, and as a result your house is 10x smaller (the walkway would be 0.15 meters in this case.
@arianealix536710 жыл бұрын
it's in millimeters. doors are 750mm, convert to meter would be .75m

Question, when you select all the windows/ doors by holding Shift and clicking them. Is it also possible to customize it to control + left click? (the same way as other programs) This way of adding objects to the selection is very confusing.
@rubenborup7 жыл бұрын
I agree David, unfortunately I don't think there is a way to change this - it seems to be a "hardwired" behavior. You can set up hotkeys and aliases but that won't be of any help I'm afraid.

Hi Jason, I think you are referring to the gumball (red and green arrows with blue arch). To enable the gumball, click the Gumball text icon in the bottom of the screen (next to Osnap and SmarTrack). You can also select an object, run the Gumball command (write "Gumball" in the command prompt and press enter), then click the on option/toggle in the command prompt. Hope that is helpful. I'm working on a video that briefly explains the gumball and object snaps, so that will be available soon. If you subscribe to my channel you will get a notification when the video is available. Cheers /Ruben.

Hi Ruben, How did you join all the curves if they aren't adjacent to each other? I select them all, click Join and the command says all the curves were joined but when you click on one it doesn't select them all. According to another tutorial they have to be adjacent to each other to be able to join them... Is this correct? Thanks!
@rubenborup7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, Join will only join curves that are connected (both open and closed curves). This means that running the join command (ctrl+J) will often produce more than one curve. In other words - the other tutorial is correct. Use the group command to group a selection of curves, that should do the trick. I hope this was helpful. Cheers, Ruben.

The "Gumball" is only available for Rhino 5. You toggle the gumball on/off from the snap-bar in the very bottom of the screen.
