you forgot to mention that main thing that carries you in pvp is attackers buff of 20% dmg so (at least with current limited ship choice global has) defence is pretty much impossible and counters nonexistent so using any of those fleet comps can get you to no.1 spot. i did it with akamaga belfast laffey jintsuu. Also i think you shouldve mention that in pvp all ships have doubled hp.

yeah, that 20% damage buff is the main point of how ship comps work in pvp. As long as you run aggressive comps with high damage output. Synergy can be thrown out of the window. Defense teams that can work, are basically high evasion/smokes/HP. Things to keep them alive long enough, and having BB's with hard hits trying to get 2 or 3 salvos off.

Failed to mention Hiryuu meh. Also it's *torpedo efficiency* which benefits most from rainbow torp, not the base stat Also use HE on CA because enemies are most likely light armor Also *accuracy* or hit stat that's the most important on BB

Thing to add for HMS. Lusty synergy with Eldridge is a good combo to hard counter an Enterprise team.

so. Cute video. But you left out the most major and important thing about pvp. The player has bonus 20% damage, therefore running aggressive comps vs defensive ones, when attacking is more beneficial. While running a survival comp vs a counter offense comp for a defense team works better as well. You nuke them a lot faster than they will nuke you when your attacking. So either focus on killing the front line, or a back liner. At the time of release for this video, running CL/DD with high FP/AP damage can be preferable if you are running a carrier heavy comp. BBs need survive/evasion/smoke vanguard to buy time for a 2nd or 3rd salvo, and works far better as a defense team, where your lack of the bonus damage against the player can be circumvented by dealing a hard hitting blow to their major damage dealing back line.

I can vouch for the wasd meta with enty and defensive vanguard. At lvl 100 full equipped and upgraded, I always stay at least rank 50 or below with only 2~3 lose because of RNG every season.

What I like in this game is when it com to PVP you have a little bit of leeway due to the attacker side have 20% damage buff. You can put one or two non-meta ships and still have a chance to win against meta.

​@@widchaponjearaphunt5452 That buff gave your a bit more freedom for your fleet but that doesn't mean it'll guaranteed your victory. It's still depending on ships + gears both you and your opponent use, and of course luck as well.

Favorite atk comp Backline: Akaga+Amagi Frontline: Junaeu, Bel, and Clevebro (anti-air against Akaga+Amagi, worked 9/10 times unless procs is bad) If they use Jintsu, Aurora, as frontline, then change Bel and Cleve to Ayanami and Laffy and trade blow to blow. This required bits of luck and hope AI won't move your team to their torpedo. That said, when come to def comp... MEME team all the way! My favorite are like Arc and the lolis, Tsundere team, tanned skin team, or or the team with same hair color.

Nice guide. However in EN, i still think that akaga amagi + torp vang is the best attacking fleet because of fast cooldown and sheer burst damage. To make things easier, you can place amagi in line with enemy's strongest backline ship (Enty, hood, depends) to kill it quickly.

With Amagi available to all version, Nagato + Akaga has since been usurped by Tenryuumon or Amagi, Hiryuu retro(retro or not matters very little actually), Nagato with Belfast, Yukikaze, Juneau vanguard. Prior to that was double tech HMS domination I believe

I had currently use that pro: - Really good again Enterprise team since Kaga BB and Amagi can shot her before Luck E - Good with HMS and Washington team Con: can easily lose against Kaga CV + Akagi CV since these two are to fast and Amagi, Kaga (bb) have really low Anti air...and right now there so many Kaga+Akagi (CV) + Amagi, so it a bit hard to use Note: Against Enterprise I alway move Kaga BB or Amagi on same line with her to shot Enterprise, most time Enterprise can only use 1 Luck E before she sunk

HMS team why didn't use Javelin/Fortune with Belfest and Aurora? Anyway right now I run Amagi Kaga(BB) and Akagi this surprise good against BB+Enterprise team like Washington and HMS, however they sink so fast when battle Akagi+Kaga CV

Theyre all options tbh. Bel cant be replaced cause shes a value engine that counters Akaga. Leander staggers smokes with Bel and buffs Cruisers, so shes great. Edin is the flex spot tbh. But Edin is legit the tankiest CL in game. A perfect front ship for soaking up damage, especially with smoke and QE support along with Torp Bulge and Repair Toolkit, she's very hard to take down. Combo that with her AP buff on the Twin 150 (one of the best CL guns) with Leander's and QE's buff and pretty decent Torps (not the best, but not bad either) and she can still pack a solid punch too, especially given her survivability. But yeah, Aurora, Cygnet, Javelin, Fortune. They're all great options as well.

The strategy is to blow up the enemy frontline as fast as possible. Akaga is ideal for this strategy since double planes makes them more overwhelming. AkagaBB would be more of a PvE thing if you dont have a BB/BC in the 3rd position, so you arent bound to overkill and overlapping CV bombs and KagaBB has CL secondaries so you can run something like Enterprise or a HealerCVL. If you dont have Kaga, Im sure AkagaBB would be decent enough to get PvP wins, even if its not ideal.

True, the popularity of HMS has gone back since WASD and now Amagi became popular. Nonetheless it's still a strong fleet which probably will rise in popularity again when new HMS ships are released in the future (like the Warspite retrofit

Yes, exactly! DD guns have much higher DPS than CL guns. Only advantage of CL guns over DD guns is on backline ships to take out suicide boats (which does not apply to PvP). Otherwise if the ship is able to equip both types always use a DD gun.

@@MakiMaki. Yes, even though I would say it does not matter much. If the enemy frontline reaches your backline it's often lost anyway. The Triple 155mm grants more firepower (+45 instead of +20) and therefore buffs your main gun damage, so it can also be used. If I think about it that might actually be better in that specific case. So yeah, for vanguard ships always DD > CL guns. For backline ships the Triple 155mm can actually be better just because of the extra firepower.

My best amagi build is with juneau, jintsuu, bell. Bel amd juneau is best coumter to enemy akaga amagi combo, esspecially with hyper aggressive ayaya too. Jint for only reason to proc amagi boost... Jint> ayaya simply because ayanami dont do much other than first torp imo. She dont survive long to give enough value.

They are good for long game strategies and boss battles due to stacking permanent DMG OVER TIME so unfortunately they're overshadowed by blitzkrieg meta in PvP.

Planes do more damage on reaching the end of the screen and that damage is based on the plane's leftover HP. So Oil Tank buffs that while helping em not get shot down too i guess.

Why is Mikasa not viable for a pvp fleet? We already have Amagi and Kaga BB so Mikasa buffs them a lot. I say this because I am afraid of future sandy retrofit and belfast counters akaga already. So why can't Mikasa be meta?

@@minhvu3116 Not necessarily true, you could use Amagi to snipe other important shipgirls like Enterprise, another Amagi, etc, although I do admit her barrage when she is in the middle is good for hitting enemy escort ships so there's that. But Mikasa buffing Amagi to be stronger is another good thing, that's why I thought of Mikasa being strong now since Amagi and Kaga BB are new strong IJN BC and BB, making Mikasa buffing their firepower more than Nagato can.

I've never seen anyone use them, so nope. I don't even have them myself, that's why I can't even tell you if they are viable at all. You can still try them yourself though, maybe you find a cool setup that works and redefine the meta :)

I ran them tho ..zui/shou/hood. Belfast/Eugen/Fortune . Since most of the equally powered battles are usually long and those CV does it best (cold and long battles) complete opposite of kaga/akagi which is to kill fast. . The more air strike they use the stronger the next airstrike thus pairing them with most tanky/stalling vanguard ships is the meta for it (hood to snipe core backline and reduce reload time of airstrikes.)

Honestly, if you have a halfway coherent team and use up your charges every now and then you should be fine. There aren't that many people at actually care about leaderboards I think, but the resources, XP and affection you get from pvp are really welcome.
