Metal Slug Attack has become good for that too, most successful f2p decks have only 3 of their preferred at most. And some with impressive looking stats are kind of trash! (The martian invader girls have very weird attack arcs, that miss people too close or just far enough away, letting those guys pummel your approaching squads. Odette became obsolete the same week she came out! WTF design. Most recent SR Sally has tons of problems as well. Her evasion is so high she can get stuck in a dodge loop and never attack! I've heard of super unit nerfs, but the prevalence of garbage pay units right out the box is a little silly. Most desirable super rares average about a year old right now, mostly 2017 Halloween event units like the vampire crew or catgirl Alma) The big killers are all really points expensive event units, really, and a handful of as yet unrereleased free units like Space Metal Rear (gigantic 40 foot tall blue tank that acts like a freaking cat. On the opposite end of broken units scale, it only takes damage from piercing and explosive, can leap to the enemy base in a single hop if nobody is there to block it, has a 33% evade chance, and the pounce does roughly 60k damage to a wide area) Kinda feels like they knew they were getting into a power creep slide around last summer and decided to roll it back some. Also a lot of subtle nerfs like all-range pierce deals 10% damage to structures. It's a little hard to start because no good units are proper out-of-event farmable, but it really doesn't take long to catch up either. They give newbs around 15k in-game currency to start with to save for their desired "returning box" (or it can be used to buy more SP to farm event points for past event units, usually the better deal long term)

Leander + unupgraded Eugen and Sandy = unf Easiest f2p super rare farm team to set up, gold equipment = unbeatable AA too It's almost ridiculous they practically throw such a great team at you from the start. I just started two events ago, and completed the level 90 EX event on the most recent with a level 60 team + shouhou, Akashi, Hermes on the back!

Its also good idea breaking up your fleet into smaller ones if you are already having a hard time managing your oil cost. And when you already have a working max level fletcher fleet, it would be easy to level a backline ship. Seriously, in just a day or two you can max out a backline ship.

Go beavers my man, then throw dual evasion boost on them. Especially if you don't mind manual! Build one fleet that's oil heavy and all power, use only on 3 triangle fleets or those mobile event bosses. Beavers literally clear everything else, even on "empty" Throw on shouhou, a dedicated repair ship, and Oklahoma or Nevada. Aim for fastest reloading guns with low angles, and rammer + HP boost. Your vanguard is impossible to hit, your back line just tanks aircraft damage until you torp shotgun everyone to death. 50% less damage doesn't matter much on 5x 610 torpedos at kissyface range An unmodified Queen Elizabeth works great too Alternatively: Cassin/Downes + Phoenix, they have the same skill. At low HP they are basically stuck there unless you eat a full salvo. Use either to clear the whole map, then send your second fleet to the boss at full or near full hp

Honorable mention #11: Hermes, torp spammy carrier, dual gold barracuda swarm just wrecks fast boss ships while they weave about in the cloud, chance of double damage. Only con is that _sometimes_ on auto a slow ship like zuikaku might travel to the extreme top or bottom, taking their time to return to center. Have cleaved nearly 70% off event bosses with one shot, and while that would've been a kill on a higher double torp bomber carrier, that also would be about double the fuel cost as well. Excellent addition to fox farmer fleets, handles the Maya mines great as well. Also good for maritime because the torp cloud just plain absorbs bomb ships for about 5 seconds.

Yep, it is strong AF. I married Yorktown and she´s always been my #1 ship. Vengeance is ridiculous, doing an airstrike every 20 seconds just because the enemy touched her, and also heals for a lot of HP. Fleet carrier is also strong.

One thing about Fletcher is that she can be useful fully limit break too. As you know EN server capped your low cost, 0 limit break Fletcher fleet at 70 making them not viable beyond World 7, but with Fletcher mothership at full lb leading 2 other 0lb, and healer like Shoho/Unicorn, you can extend that to somewhere around World 9 if you really pimp them with +10 gold gears. And beyond 0lb farm fleet, you'll get Nicholas later on in World 9, she's the first Fletcher that can get retrofit in this game, which bring her to just a bit below retrofitted Starter Ships in term of dps when paired with Fletcher (when they use the same gears of course). While there's nothing stopping you from using 0lb Fletcher to buff Nicholas kai, I doubt she'd last long in the late game content Nicholas kai was intended to be use on. So full lb Fletcher isn't a bad idea here.

That evasion thing is not a skill, rather its taken directly from the evasion stat of ships. Them being destroyers, have natural high evasion stats which increases evasion chance.

He added Portland, Kagerou and Achilles, Portland didn't have a refit on JP for so long it became a meme, Achilles took best part of a year to get hers same for Kagerou, so it's not like they aren't there because of their refit not being in game. I seriously doubt he knows how good these ships are, considering he's admitted he doesn't know much about AL and is just getting much of his info from the wiki (bad idea) One of my friends just posted his guide on how to use what he terms the 'zombie fleet' which is better than the Fletcher Fleet, as those two are a better farming choice than using a Fletcher team. Note he's not included Cygnet, so he's clearly not even aware that she's the cockroach and the massive memes there. He also included Fletcher, who is not used outside of a Fletcher Fleet, and as there are better alternatives to the Fletchers (he mentioned Phoenix but didn't mention her ability to farm alone with Yorktown) it makes you boggle that he's still riding that dead horse. Kind of a bad list really when you factor in that it is so heavy on future refits, might as well have put Hyuuga on the list for all the good it does.

If you know their typing, you can look for ships that boosts that typing. For example, building a team of cruisers around Leander who boosts cruiser's firepower provides for good synergy. Also, for retrofitting, there's a button that says "hard" in the bottom left corner of the campaign map. Select that and make sure to exhaust your six daily runs for an item called blueprints. This item allows you to retrofit which basically is an upgrade on a ship's stats without an increase in oil cost.

Old video but I think Furutaka/Kako are worth to mention - not many CA's fully LBed and retrofited that cost 9 oil at max lvl. Medium armor - check Useful skills - check Hot ship girl - check Low oil cost - check Retro - check Only real downside for her is that she is kinda torp focused CA so she for sure yields good results in Manual ... in Auto well obviously like every torp focused ship. 180% torp effeciency is same as retroed Jintsu and double torpedo skill makes her dangerous. Base torp stat is kinda meh, but due to previous and good scaling , she can still kick ass.

After retrofitting Ranger and Shouhou, maxing there skills, giving them tier 3 equipment, and leveling them to 100; + put them in a fleet with a refit Portland, Leander and Laffy with your choice of Battleship/cruiser/monitor... You have an op team. Maxing Ranger's skills is important if you want a 1 of 4 chance to have 4 waves of aircraft slaughter the enemy. 2 of 4 chance to send 3 waves when she launches her wave. 3 of 4 chance to have 2 waves of aircraft to be launched. She is also perfect as a support CV for Enterprise on later levels with Hood as your battleship.

I personally use Ranger and Shouhou and swear by both. Even before retrofits, they both are amazing for burning through the story. Shouhou is wonderful for keeping your vanguard healthy. Ranger exists to torpedo bomber dump on anything that breathes. Phoenix+Helena+Whichita/Brooklyn is a good vanguard, bringing huge amounts of constant cannon fire while debuffing the enemy is a surefire way to cheese most of the story.

Leander has actually been a staple of my team for a while now, purely because I liked her design and even made her my secretary (followed by Arizona). Didn't even know just *how* valuable she was until I looked at the comments on her (I sometimes just skip comments because they're usually just filled with memes). Now I'm working on retrofitting her...though I do wonder if I should limit break her anymore than tier 1 since I heard that some ships are better at certain tiers...

I think Pennsylvania is an honorable mention as well. Her Ex-Barrage skill has the second highest proc chance of all other BBs' barrages, beaten only by Hood and Washington. Her unique barrage also has high concentrated damage to the center lane, with AoE that affects parts of the side lanes. I think it's better than the Big-Seven's Ex-Barrage skill, because Big Seven doesn't proc as often and it's wave damage is mitigated or gone after the wave hits sometimes-useless front targets. With similar gear, my Penny performs equally well with my Hood. And Washington's barrage is honestly trash in comparison, no matter the gear. What do you think about Penny, Shogun?

Ship rarity means nothing in AL. The important factors besides stats (and gear) are mainly skills and synergy with other ships in the fleet. A well built fleet with many low-tier ships will often outshine many SSR-only fleets in pvp, as they rarely have any sort of synergy except for raw stats and offensive/defensive skills. In many cases, 2-3 ships being able to withstand and survive a few moments longer while working together is enough to turn the tide.

Fletcher is a bad choice as there are better options when it comes to a farming fleet, there are others that are on there for future refits that aren't in game and could even be a long way off (Portland, Achilles, Kagerou) Brooklyn is only good early on and should be swapped out when you get Wichita who is just superior, you don't use your meme fleet for farming after all. Cygnet is a ship that will serve you well into late game and PvP, she definitely should be there, Cassin and Downes also should have been there as they are better than a Fletcher Fleet. Hammann should have been on there are she is so useful later on. Bad list really

I use the tiny kindergarten/gradeschoolers because they give me diabeetus, and also because their torpedo stats are very high. Cassin is my discount Phoenix, even if she's not clocking insane damage, she's very good at surviving, so that has helped me win some PVP matches. I had to Oath her.

They have similar stats, they both get Flank Coverage skill, but Foxhound also has Reload command boosting the fleet while Fortune only boosts her own evasion. Am I missing something here? Also, is there any information on when some of these retrofits are going to be released on EN server?

So this wasn't really a tier list and unless you run multiple destroyers (which I don't in pvp) the evasion that fortune gets is better imo as for when the retros are coming it's anyones guess as they are not really following a schedule / pattern

highest firepower for a CA in the game right now on EN, she even beats the Takao sisters in terms of both combined FP and raw torp stats, her skills are all focused on boosting that FP further and in an HMS fleet she will cut through anything, she is a great DPS option AND she already has her refit, unlike some others on the list.

Doing it wrong, Suffolk + Leander and QE in the back = explosions Brooklyn is only good when starting out, after that you may as well forget about her Leander (refit) HP: 3126, FP: 177, AA:284, Torp: 271, Reload: 154, Evasion: 77, Oil: 8 Brooklyn HP: 3076, FP: 142, AA: 270 Torp: 0, Reload: 157, Evasion: 72, Oil: 9 Same skills but Leander also has smoke. Other than reload, Leander with her refit is superior to Brooklyn And she's HMS so she also gets the QE buff. Even on the gunboat side of things Brooklyn is only useful at the start of the game because Wichita exists

Cool vid ironically almost fully retrofit some of those ships. Definitely looking forward to fully retrofit Ranger and seeing her assists in action. I’m a little surprised you didn’t mention Suffolk as I find her awesome but that’s my opinion soon she’ll be fully retrofitted to ^_^

Was really worried Brooklyn wasn't going to make the list somehow but then she came in at number 2 and all was right with the world. A front line of Phoenix / Brooklyn / Helena took me far on the CN server and I have the same gang back together on the NA server with Saratoga / Arizona / Lexington in the back line. Saratoga and Lexingtons cannon barrage is great for clearing and holds up well till you get to the later worlds like 10 or 11 where it drops off. Arizona's solid (not amazing but solid) damage output combined with her heal is a great addition to the team. As an addition I must be one of the only people who doesn't care about Akagi and Kaga. They are so hard to get that it really doesn't seem worth it when you could be farming for much better things.

Your one of the lucky ones, I've see people grinding 3-4 for over a month and still not have both. I got Kaga on CN while clearing and never went back for Akagi. On EN I didn't get ethier while clearing and don't plan on going back. Maybe if I have every other ship in the game and I'm board I might try to get them just for the hell of it but I just don't understand the time a lot of people put in to get them. :/

Can confirm the part on Ranger,had this guy that used her on PvP...luck wasn't on my side, she proc'd both and got raped. Ofc not in just 1 airstrike, but both procs in a single Air strike made her dmg stupidly high. Shouhou's heal is great and her retro made her an even better ship. Phoenix has saved me in PvP many times,and is very useful on low cost fleets, altho, not many people use her in PvP. Can't say much about the rest but I'd dare say Fletcher and fletcher fleet looses a lot of utility in US/JP servers, mine wasnt really useful aside low cost and for some chapters, relies a lot on equipment/skill upgrade.

I can confirm the Ranger part too, My opponent had illustrious and Enterprise at lv 55 while my Ranger is only at lv45. Then I saw my Ranger proc both skills and she absolutely wiped out his entire back line in one wave lol.

Ajax is a light cruiser? Really? Big surprise to me as the real Ajax (AR-6 as I recall) is a repair ship. I know this one because I served on her sister, the Jason(AR-8) I guess that last overhaul was more extensive than I knew about.(both ships were originally outfitted with three 5" guns) and who knows what AA batteries. We still had one 5" mounted forward, and prior to deployment we also got four twin 20mm AA guns. The 5" was OOC and not used.

I got Fletcher after i don't know 300 + Runs, i had akagi and kaga already, on the next day. Fletcher was in the exchange shop. Thats how much Gamedevelopers are hating me :D

HMS fleet with Queen Elizabeth, Hood, Belfast, and your choice of other Brits. Or just build a fleet around Enterprise. Things like Hood, Helena, Prinz Eugen, Belfast. Frontline built to stall while doing damage then E just wipes everything. Build into buffing E on that one. Then there's Akagi and Kaga. Theyre just good. Run them similar to E. They're probably better than her in PvE but both E and Akaga are good in both PvP and PvE.

Great video (except for having butchered almost all Japanese names and words in there :P). Even though some entries like Fletcher, Phoenix, Shouhou and Ranger are pretty much common knowledge at this point, I'm sure this is especially helpful for beginners to get started. At the moment I actually like to run both Leander and Fortune in my HMS vanguard, so I'm glad to see them listed here (even if I'll probably kick out Fortune for Edinburgh once I get lucky with the gacha^^).

Good video, good ships. I'm a bit surprised by the omission of Pennsylvania; a properly-leveled Avalanche skill firing HE shells can HURT. Pair her up with a Lexington firing Artillery Support, and your back line is putting a lot of rounds downfield.

Random luck bs on farming 3-4. Tips would be to use the fletcher fleet. There's no direct way to boost the odds of them dropping. There are only ways to save oil, and get more runs in.

However I still don't understand what exactly a retrofit is, and how to retrofit a ship. Do you just max their star count and level to unlock the retrofit? Is there any way you could make a video about it?

Riley Everlast at the details option of certain ships, there will be an extra button that looks like an arrow facing up. Not all ships currently have that arrow and only some for now. Use up Blueprints in order to "upgrade" your ship and complete all upgrades to retrofit them.

Only a few ships have the option of a retrofit. It is a full upgrade of the ship. The rarity goes up, usually they learn a new skill and the stats are all better. You use blueprints to retrofit a ship, getting better in the process, and at the end of the retrofit you have the option to modernize the ship. By doing that you upgrade the ship. But as I said, only a few ships have the retrofit option.
