While watching this video I spotted an amazing detail no one else will probably notice: the barrage of RN Trieste. Those lily-like torpedoes-projectiles have actually the shape of the halberd of *St. Sergius, the symbol of the city of Trieste. Thank you very much, Yostar. Now I love this game even more.

It's completely optional but for hardcore players when it's their only game, it's a must if they want to get high damage scores and all that, probably would've done the same but I play Arknights religiously as well same with Elden Ring, MHWI, and etc.

Impero to me looks like a CV meant to be run in a mono-Sardegna fleet, especially supporting Veneto and Aquila, as her skill evens out healing done to prevent a weaker main fleet ship from dying, though tbh that's not a huge problem with Aquila and Veneto... I'm very happy to see Pompeo be pretty good, even if her skills are manual heavy, it does harken to Paolo Emilo's playstyle in WoWs, which is loosely related, as is Tashkent which makes sense she'd have a similar companion skill. Overall, definitely excited for more SAP cruiser guns, Pompeo and her gun, and still the other two, but Pompeo is definitely the highlight.

Well, Impero ended up as a component for the Italian fleet instead of the powerhouse (Fair enough since no one wants Aquila to be out meta-ed) Kinda sad since I missed Aquila on the fist event (Drained my last cubes thanks to her) but whatever :))

I'm interested in Impero and how she's going to play out. 5% of Impero's HP (7.2k+, with oath 7.6k) is still 360HP, so a decent amount. It's a more extreme version of Champagne's skill. But if she's losing 360+HP every 20s because my flagship got burned, she's a sink risk - 20% HP is very low to stop activations. Having said that, I think it's utility is OpSi. Many battles resulting in a faux-heal for lower HP ships. i.e. if she heals herself, she (kinda) heals another ship the next time it procs. The part of this I think is detrimental is that she doesn't heal the lowest HP ship, it's herself even if there's a ship with lower %HP. Impero may be charitable, but she still has to be the Highest HP to do so.

Yes there's some better options but we have to think open minded here, she can work with anything in OPSI, fleets in general. Now if you want to flex for attention for some reason with a high score then that's when she gets replaced.

Pompeo is a big winner at least, but we've got a couple big oofs on our hands. Impero really needed that second hangar to carve herself some semblance of a niche as a manual alpha striker, because swapping damage like Pokemon TCG Alakazam ain't it. And I'm pretty damn salty about what they've done to my poor wife Yamashiro. I've been looking forward to her Meta since her art leak months ago, only to discover not only is she crippled by an arbitrarily missing MGM from the retrofit she hasn't had, but two of her skills are almost direct rips from Taihou Muse and Little Renown. It's so strange that she turned out like this in spite of her sister being so well developed (and notably with all gun mounts intact). I hope this isn't a sign that they're giving up and putting less effort into the Meta concept, because there is still potential there despite the poor reception thus far.

As someone who plays the dive bombers a lot, and plays auto battle a lot, the Impero bomber skill has some utility. Strike #2 can break all the MP ships in time to save the Vanguard from getting chewed up late battle. Considering my BBs invariably get their salvos off before the airstrike (rammers are mandatory), this skill could guarantee a CV flunky cleanup, and leave a battered boss facing the Vanguard's torps (or Eagle Cl/CA MG fire) and the BB third salvo. The heals are nice for a Sardenian fan's theme fleet since they aren't quite as tough as their counterparts in the Big Four.

If the translation is correct, Impero cannot transfer backline HP around perfectly. According to the b part of the skill, If you have 3 backline ships and Impero is 2nd in HP, not the lowest in HP, Impero will still get the heal.

Impero can leech off of Monarch who gains reload based on her HP lost, finalize the trifeca with either Perseus for upfront damage and healing or Ryuuho for targetted heals or Ulric for more shelling and you've a good backline.

As for kansens, Pompeo is mixed bag for me. High HP as expected, but underwhelming firepower. I always love the double dive bombers slotted ships. Saratoga and Ranger is lovely bunch of ship that fun to use for me. Lexington also cool. They just delete waves. and its fun to see them doing it again and again. Especially if you are new player like me. Helldivers is quick to get compared to other weapon system with acceptable damage. Helldivers will help you for quite some time on the way. Any double dive bomber will get you to 11 or 12 with kitchen sink fleet a newbies usually could gather up, and then farm those places. I mean, battleships gonna require me to do OpSi first and farm high level enemy there. which isn't really viable. So, Helldiver it is. Impero seems like cool ship when I cant get my hand on Shinano. Not comparable off course, but I cant get Shinano so... yeah. 15% AVI and 15% damage with double slot helldivers plus torp bomber translates to be the best newbie ship we newbros can get for now. That being said, I will spend cube on her only if I get more than 400 of it. I will save 400 them in case wild Shinano event appears.

iirc, Pompeo was either originally going to be a CL or converted from a CL to a DD which explains why she is so similar to Tashkent with her being right between a CL and DD. Weird they bothered to balance Impero when MANY ships just ignore whatever the concept of "balanced" is (Shimakaze). That "heal" though is so incredibly bad, I wonder if in the right situation she could friendly fire a ship so they sink. Trieste as light armor, so at least that's unique. Also soon we might have so much damage reduction stacking that enemies will just do 0 damage to our vanguard or at least to a few specific ships. Unless something changed Agir can already accomplish this with some attacks with safe mode on lower level stages. Yamashiro META is a downgrade from Renown-chan...that's weird and again I am questioning why METAs are hyped so hard in story of being stronger then anything we have in our fleet, yet suck so incredibly hard once we recruit them. And with the past two events having an HMS ship cameo and Eskimo's event, I am sure HMS is coming. Devs are throwing the HMS bones like candy just trying to fend the tide of angry HMS simps.

Actually happy that she won't be a competition for my beloved Aquila. Pompeo is great and she is somewhat similar to Tashkent, which isn't surprising in hindsight. Good thing she's a welfare. And Trieste... Man, they just had to make her Elite CA, didn't they? What a waste of such gorgeous design. I rate it "beautiful signorina over meta/10, would waste dockspace again". So overall a skipabble-ish banner. Gotta save up cubes for HMS Vanguard! However, I am looking forward to the event's story and I'm thankful for its "lighter" format.

What do you mean? She has a 15% avi self buff, a 15% damage self buff and 60% extra damage on 2nd airstrike buff. I dont know how strong the 75% chance barrage is yet. But pair that with raw stats rivaling any SSR CV and the ability to run 5 dive bombers and 3 torpedo bombers and you got a great damage dealing CV imo?

@@Cygnet13 I think I'd like her more if she had Hangar +1, and some additional way to reduce her airstrike cooldown that wasn't reliant on her running fighters. I was hoping for a carrier that would synergize really well with Aquila, and while she kind of does it feels like it's too much of a hassle to do so. Also, I don't like how her heal functions at all.

@@AzurLaneMeta my biggest issue with her heal is that it only targets Main Fleet ships. If she could target Vanguard ships with the healing portion, it would be a lot more useful.

ALM: HMS needs an UR ship Yostar: NO (cries with laughter) Yostar is going to do mini-events for a couple of months, then he's going to throw a bigger event for IJN and eagles, as usual, and when most of the RN fans stopped playing there they're going to do an RN event. And yes, face it, RN players are leaving the game, I know several in person who have already stopped playing and I'm getting to that point myself. I'm just logging in to do the dailies and that's it, these events don't even matter to me.

I could see a collab or a major non-UR event in April and then the UR event in late May. That could give enough time for cubes.
