Nice video Paddy, I have questions as well. 1. I think you have simulate the On-premises environment by creating SQL server on Azure VM??? Thats why being in same Vnet u dont require the need of S2S VPN??? 2. As u said we have to download DMA on On-premises SQL server machine so what if we have major migration and have 20 servers with 30 DBs...so in that case we will download DMA on every Server or whatelse??? Please guide and reply yo both questions...

Hi, Is is possible to migrate on-prem cluster SQL (setup using MSCS, having shared disk) and on-prem AlwaysOn FCI, AlwaysOn AG to Azure VM using Azure Migrate tool (lift and Shift)??
@PaddyMaddy26 Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is possible to migrate the on-premise cluster SQL with Azure Migrate. You can use the Azure Migrate tool to lift and shift the cluster SQL and the on-premise AlwaysOn FCI and AlwaysOn AG to Azure virtual machines. Please refer to the Azure documentation for more information about the Azure Migrate tool. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your kind words and for your suggestion. We appreciate your input. We understand the need for migrating a small size database and have taken the time to research the best tools to use. We have found that Visual Studio SQL Server tools are indeed very helpful for this, however, we recommend using other tools for larger databases. For more information, please visit our blog at PaddyMaddy.com. Thank you again for your feedback.
