Today is a Field Trip Day! I am going to pickup my very first Azure Standard Co-op Order! Come along, I will explain the process, unbox, and show you my haul! Spoiler Alert! I ordered a lot of wheat berries, and I want to see the quality of their grains, so I even am going to unbox (or unbag, lol) all the grains I bought so that you can see them too! Welcome to Azure--we have been with them for over 20 years. Produce is hit or miss with Azure but their customer service is amazing. I order 12 half gallons of Alexandre whole milk every month( in cartons). Delicious. if you are trying to get Rumiano butter, good luck. I had it in my cart for 4 months and it finally shipped.

Regarding Alexadre’s milk products… I live down the road from them! If you’re ever in Northern California and I mean NORTHERN on the coastal side, please contact me, stay on our property and allow us to take you to the dairy farm! Also within our town we also have Rumiano cheese factory! Both have little country stores for locals and visitors to make purchases.

when there is very little left on the bottom of the bucket/bin, it is a good idea to take the contents out, wipe the container with a dry cloth once and then add the new stuff first and then top with the old contents...so we use up the old ones first... especially those that can go rancid like nuts, etc... 😀

I’ve bought wheat berries from Azure and I’m happy with the product . I mill my grains with a powered Grainmaker mill and I use a 12inch diameter very fine sieve to inspect every thing I put into the mill. I’m not overly worried about chaff etc but i don’t want to pass rocks thru the mill.

I picked up some grain and it had those round seeds in them. I called the farm, he said they are wild peas that were growing in his field. They are fine to mill and wont change anything. I left them in.

Amazed you got Kamut! I’ve been buying from Azure since 2017 and love them. The only problem I have had is with fresh vegetables and fruit, not good.

I guess I got lucky! There was plenty when I placed my order, but I am hearing that it is now out of stock. The only produce I got with this order was Organic Kiwi, and it was delicious, gone in 2 days! So I guess I will see in future orders if I have any issues. Thanks so much for watching!

Love their cream A2/A2 heavy whipping cream. I made clotted cream with some. Very good! We’ve ordered many things from Azure that I couldn’t find in any store. Their grain, I wasn’t as happy with was the Einkorn. And the first bag of Soft White had little stones. Your grains looked amazingly clean! Maybe I got the bottom of the barrel, because I ordered that last fall, early winter. I will order grains from them again. Been trying grains from so many sources to see what I like 🥰 Lots of organic. Enjoy!

A tip. On the pick-up time. It is typically 1 week after the cutoff. But on occasion it can be just under a week, up to 1 1/2 weeks. Sharing only so you are aware, since you do travel. I love Azure. We seem to increase our order every other month or so. Glad you decided to give them a try. I think you'll really love them.

I may do something like that, but our weeks look different than most, especially when we have travel days, etc. But, we try to get in as much fresh milled flour as possible. So some of my weeks will consist of making a bunch of things to store for travel days. But, on a normal week we try to get as much fresh milled flour foods as possible. I try to be creative and mix up my recipes. But, the ones I post online on my website, are the ones I am using! I try to add new ones every week! www.grainsinsmallplaces.net

Love Azure! We got a bag of soft white that was full of debris like it was the last bag of the huge bin or something. Customer service was easy to work with and come to a resolution. Of the multiple 25-50 pound bags we have ordered that is a rare occurrence so just heads up that it is possible to get a bag with some stuff, but not a common problem, at least from my experience in the past year of ordering from them. Also they have delicious chocolate chips if you ever need to stock up!

I purchase the A2A2 milk, heavy cream etc and they are AMAZING! The cheeses are amazing too and I buy the large blocks every time, cut in blocks, vacuum seal and freeze the chunks.. You will not be disappointed. I freeze all my milks too… The Kamut is awesome! I made your Kamut bread with it, one loaf for us and one for mom…. Happy baking!

I love my grains from azure. I’ve gotten beans too. The one time I got soft white it had LOTS of extra weed seeds. Maybe a tsp- Tbsp per cup of grain. But I just grind them up and don’t know the difference!

And also by the way, I like cow you found the A2/A2 dairy products I have a store near me and I’ve been on this product for a few months now and I was reading about it and I guess it’s A2 beta-casein is most natural to the human body and more easily absorbed. So our bodies recognize it so I was excited about that and also, I’m gonna tell you that apricots are amazing. I’m on my second bag now, so I was like you I couldn’t find any apricots that didn’t have weird stuff in it but the ones that I get from Azure are good, so I hope you enjoy them

Thank you so much! I am picking up my first order next week. The one thing that’s been holding me back was unloading the truck. I have a back fusion surgery and will not be able to unload a truck. Will this be a problem? I’ll be able to load up my own items, but that will be enough lifting for me. I am really hoping there are some strapping young men there willing to help.

I don't think you will have an issue at all! Everyone jumps in and unloads the truck, there were people helping other people at the one I went to. It was kind of mythodical! I am sure there will be people there to help. Matt (my husband) was there to help others if needed, but there were so many people there helping others he wasn't really needed.

We’ve been with Azure for 3 months now. Very VERY pleased with quality of items and how everything is packed … arrives perfectly. Question? Are you using 3 or 5 gal buckets to store your wheat berries? I’m trying to estimate how many “gal” would be in a 25 lb bag of berries. Same question for Rice. Thank you.

Yes! It was a painless process, and kind of fun! I don't know why it took me so long to place an order! I have 5 gallon buckets, and I poured 25# of my wheat berries into the buckets in the video. So, 5 gallon buckets, empty will probably hold close to 35# of grains. I hope that helps! Thanks!

No, I don't use oxygen absorbers, but sometimes, when I'm in a really humid area, I will put food grade moisture absorbers in there. I go through it pretty quick! I am fortunate to have not had a bug issue. I pray it stays that way! Thanks for watching! 😊

It was about 15 minutes for us to pickup the order. Yes, I was impressed with the amount of Nationwide pickup locations! I love to shop at Bread Beckers every time we go through the area, I havent tried their co-op yet. We LOVE the popcorn, the bag is already more than half gone. I told my family it actually tastes like the popcorn I had as a child, like it actually tastes like popcorn. I don't know if it was the variety, or the fact that it was non-gmo. But, it is amazing, and will be on our next order! Thanks!

I don't think it is oily, no. It is one of the largest of the wheat berries. It's an ancient grain that hasn't been genetically modified. Kamut flour comes in both white and whole grain flours. I used to bake with it exclusively but slacked off on my baking in the last year.
