It's also because he's had ample amount of time to co-exist with humans. My theory is that since he'd forgotten much of his past, he was essentially an empty vessel absorbing people's emotions, perhaps in a way making them his own, thus the rain whenever there are sad things weighing his mind. Toward the end of the 4.1 trailer, a voice (likely Focalors) spoke to him and it seems to me she might be steering him to accept and love humanity in all its glory and imperfections.

Yeah. In my area there is a marked difference between treated city water and well water. We have a lot of iron and sulfur in our ground wells, but run it through a water softener to remove the excess minerals and the water ends up tasting much better than the city water. It’s why I rarely get water when I go to restaurants, you can still taste the city water even if it was used to make tea!
