Currently looking for this model kit after I have got my 1/48 scale XB-70 Valkyrie. Both the XB-70 and B-1B is massive in 1/48 scale.

Auction sites are a good choice. The B-1B was re released with PE in case you didn't know!

What paint bottle brand do you recommend from amazon, I gotgifted the B-1B Lancer and I'm excited to build/ paint. Oh I'm going to do it by hand for the paint

I used model master gunship gray for this. You'll have to find that if suppliers still use it.

Here's a little trick for squadron green putty , once you spread it in the Gap and it starts to dry a little, take a Q-tip moistened with acetone nail polish and rub it over the putty it will clean up the excess. Another option is to use a water-based acrylic putty like Vallejo plastic putty.

Thanks for the pointer. Makes sense in smoothing out. I knew i was missing something. Ill try this next year (really this year but you won't see any planes using this technique until next year).

Plastic Model Builder glad to help. Honestly, I like the Vallejo putty a lot better. you can smooth it with a Q-tip moistened with water. Plus, you don't get the shrinkage like you do with the green putty.

LOVE the larger aircraft in 1/48. I REALLY MISS the large Monogram kits of the 80' and 90's. I wish some model maker would produce a 1/48 B-47 Stratojet as well as a C-119 (with PWA 4360's). A Transall 160 and a short Boeing 737 w/fan engines and a full interior would be great too. TOO MANY SAME OLD SAME OLD kits......ME109...P51....F4's.....F16 etc......

The larger ones are nice. I think space is always an issue though.

1/48 ? great size, never seen this kit

It is a 1:48. They are hard to find for a good price. $100 and under is great. There was a Platinum addition released a few years ago with PE from Eduard.

Why did you use white glue for the canopy?
@PlasticModelBuilder4 жыл бұрын
It reduces risk of fogging the glass if you use other glues like plastic cement or CA.

It is such a fun, happy time to get to this stage. Did you get any of that gloss coat overspray on the floor?
@PlasticModelBuilder5 жыл бұрын
I didn't get any on the floor

I use perfect plastic putty, spreads well and sands easily, I think, but don’t quote me, it’s similar to what you call Bondo in the USA. What’s wrong with modelling in a bath robe? Just shows you have your priorities right, and makes for a comfortable feeling, if you get my drift. Might I be rude and ask if all or the majority of Vloggers have trouble with or just don’t know what aircraft terminology is, you aren’t to bad, but I just watched a kit review of this kit by a guy who didn’t have a clue, undercarriage bay doors were “flaps” and the tail one/rear radome was “the back end bit” also he had just spent a considerable amount of money on the kit and was moaning about a) no rivet lines b) not being able to see the cockpit and weapons control/navigators/ECM etc compartment (his description was “operations centre” c) the wheel assemblies being plastic and not resin/rubber d) the ECUs (engines) not good enough and the list went on, why buy a kit if you don’t rate it? Especially one that costs a lot of money in anyone’s language, unless you are rich or stupid or both, for a kit this size and cost you should be getting the best of most types of components, but for every little “nice bits and bobs” there will be cost implications, so either make the most of the items provided or consider if it’s worth buying aftermarket items, sometimes it’s not worth it or you spent all your spare cash buying it in the first place. Needless to say I wouldn’t be subscribing to that channel, but yours on the other hand most definitely yes, I like your no nonsense approach, narration style and valuable tips and tricks. Maybe I am teaching you to suck eggs, but, (there’s always a but) I bought a turntable designed for cake making from an online store, it was cheaper than one advertised as being for model makers and is really slick rotating, and it doesn’t matter what size model/assembled section I put on it, it is so easy to turn that the airbrush pressure turns it sometimes, but a little bit of tape or blutack stops that (if I don’t want it to turn that is or I can’t get a hand on it to stop it until I want it too). This is my first time watching your videos, but it certainly won’t be the last, and I promise to TRY and not write a short story for a comment next time, but (see, there’s another one), the last persons video got my back up, so I just had to vent my spleen. Thanks for sharing your work and knowledge with us, looking forward to next episode. 👍😀🇬🇧🏴

This kit was huge. I buy a kit for what it is and certainly not what it isn't. It would have been better for that other guy if he said he switched stuff out instead of complaining about it and still building it. In love the revell kits because they are far from perfect and great for learning. Thanks for watching my videos. I enjoyed your mini novella.

Try Decalling onto gloss, you’ll have more success

I do decal on gloss. I didn't have any problems on this one.

What purpose does a comment like that have? To increase your ego?
