From the beginning, I always felt that Ridge married Taylor out of obligation. He "played" the role of husband, but did not have deep feelings for her. Sure, he was attracted to her and found stability in her. But after Caroline died, it was Brooke for him hands down. When he first married Taylor, he did it because his father was still in love with Brooke and he didn't want to "take away" Brooke from his father. So, he indulged himself with Taylor to distract himself from Brooke. As for Taylor, he was an unstable, unreliable risk. He was always roving his eyes toward Brooke, even while married. Then, the second Taylor was gone (or presumed dead), he married Brooke. When she returned, he went back to her out of guilt and obligation. It's like he had no reason to leave her, but then his true feelings came out after Taylor confessed her infidelity. In other words, he found his perfect "out."

As to your second question...let's keep this in perspective. Brook was pregnant with Rick _after_ Ridge and Caroline had been married 6 months, and yet _still_ "having feelings for him. This worsened after Caroline's death [which, admittedly, she tried to help him through] to the point even *Brooke herself* said it: "A year ago, we were in love and I was pregnant with you baby...now, I'm here, pregnant with your _father's_ baby! That's gotta be a little awkward." Even _Storm_ , her own brother, called her on her feelings for Ridge, _especially_ when she started showing interference with Ridge's relationship with Taylor while _still married_ to Eric. And even _after_ Ridge and Taylor were married, Brook *continued* to interfer in their union, using her majority holding of Forrester to constantly pull ridge away from home, _and_ *actively trying to seduce him* with the opening of Brooke's Bedroom. And again...Taylor and James thought *they were going to die.* This was NOT a "normal" sitation, anymore than Brook *deliberately* vascilating between Ridge and his brother Thorn...then Ridge and Grant....then Ridge and his _other brother_ Nick.... OR her deliberately siding with Rick _after_ he had inadvertandly caused *the death of Ridge's daughter Pheobe* ...are all "emotional whims" of Brooks. Let us not forget that Brook _also_ held herself up as a "devoted wife" to Ridge while _deliberately seeking attention_ from at least ONE of these men [Nick]. So please, let's be real; Brook's not as "loyal" and faultless as you make her out to be. We will agree that Ridge...well, to be fair, most of the Forrester males....aren't worth all this odd female attention. At one point they have _all_ tried to sleep with each others wives, girlfriends or girlfriends sisters. It's a bit incestuous, when you think about it.

Nor did she _directly try_ to interfer in Brook's marragie, *no way* to the extent that Brook tried to do for hers...and not _just_ with Ridge, but nearly *every freaking guy she was with!* I mean, let's be real; when Taylor came back the first time, she outter herself to _Brook first_ and let her know she wanted her life back; that's not backstabbing, and technically since she was alive, her marriage to Ridge _was_ still valid. It's why he ended up seperating from Brook and how the love triangle was reestablished. So I don;t give Brook wrong for fighting there...what I _do_ give her wrong for is using a _child_ as a weapon, then after finding out the kid _wasn't his_ STILL attempting to leverage their connection _before_ resulting to cheap seduction as a method. This was back in 95 or 96, and what did Taylor do? She _offered Ridge the choice_ and even agreed to bow out if he wanted to be with his then "family". Brook NEVER did this; even when Taylor and Ridge were established and she [Brook] with Grant, she _still_ tried to get with R. Now, we have to give it to Ridge here; he willingly went to prison to protect her son/his brother, even though him doing so for her strained his relationship with Taylor; that was selfless. This is what pushed Taylor into Thorn's arms the first time; she was pregnant, alone, and broken hearted. Yet when she had Thomas, she let Ridge know he was the father, and their relationship stablaized. Yet even _after_ they had Thomas and were married, Brook STILL *actively tried to seduce him!* To my memory, even after she came back from the dead a _second_ time and wanted her family back, Taylor neevr did such. So I have no idea where this "she usually succeeded" line came up; you'll have to provide concrete examples and years, please. 2]Let's not talk about "Cheap legs"; Brook jumped from Ridge to Grant to Nick's bed with such speed she _couldn't_ know who the father was. Then there's the whole "sleeping with your daughter's husband" thing, not once but *twice!* I'd almost forgotten about Deacon... And I already explained the first Thorne issue, but please tell me, *what was Brook's excuse?* She wanted to consolidate her power in Forrester with Grant [which backfired on her]; I'll give that she and Thorne were near best friends. But what about the issue with Nick? Taylor had *left Ridge to her* , yet Brook _still_ came and again *deliberately tried to interfer in Taylor's relationship with a new man although she HERSELF was MARRIED!* Sure, that's "moving on"... come on, chick, be fair now. And you cannot say Taylor "never loved Thorne"; she was so torn up about causing Darla's death she _willingly_ went to the police and plead guilty, hoping to give him and his daughter some closure! And [unlike Brook's son] she _owned up_ to her part in the tragedy, even though it was _ruled_ an accidental death! 3] I'll concede you the point of Ridge's constant "Stringing" with Brook, if you admit he used to do the same with Taylor, if to a lesser extent. Taylor's feelings for him were less obsessive, while Brook tended to assert they were "destiny", which is _why_ she had little issue doing whatver she could to gain, or at least bask in his attention. Again, _having_ feelings for an Ex is not a problem; that's normal, and understandable. _Acting_ on said feelings though, especially whn both you _and_ them have significant others...that's some low class shit. 4] Taylor _never paid_ for her faults? Woman lost her husband, _twice_ , to the same woman [twice!] near lost a baby, was killed off, *twice*, one time because she felt so guilty about her singular act of infidelity she _fled_ to avoid hurting her man, had her daughter kidnapped by a crazy ex of her husband, was _shot_ by another crazy woman, lost *years* with her family only to find out her arch rival ended up raising her kids, lost the relationship she was building with Thorne due _directly_ to repercussions from Darla's death, almost lost her life while carrying her daughters, had _her_ child killed off by Brook's _on top of_ having to bare her daughter being killed, had her son...hell, her entire _life_ with Nick.... *usurped* by Brook (who only ended _dropping the guy anyway,_ ) lost her best friend Stephanie, almost got sent to prison because (AGAIN) she tried to do the honorable thing, and also had to deal with _this shit_ Ridge threw at her because....in a desperate, life threatening situation, she made a campassion-based decision _years_ ago? Dude...come better than that, please. And when has Brook _ever_ "faced" her faults? When she slept with her daughter's husbands? When she brought scandal to the company time and again? When she tried to usurp it from the whole family? When she tried to protect her son from his part in Pheobe's death, and her brother from shooting Stephanie? When she _too_ got drunk and left her kids, both under 6, at home, alone, all night? when she set fire to the bed? When she tried to take a child from Taylor that she didn;t even have a right to? Opr anyt of the myriad of times she tried to seduce Ridge/Eric/Thorn/Grant/Nick? Please, friend....do tell me; aside from being raped, when did she "pay" for _anything?_ 5] Ahah... I see. And it was the _courts_ that deemed Brook's marriage invalid at this point, so everyone was on equal footing; not Taylor's fault she was still alive and their marriage thus never dissolved. The second time she came back, all she wanted to do was be with her family; again, she didn't _ask_ Ridge to leave Brook, only if he still _loved her_. BROOK was the one who was saying "Stay with me for the children!" ....yet when Taylor was pregnant with Thomas, she was _pushing Taylor_ to be with Thorn. And you forget; Taylor _didn't Originally "try to hide" her infidelity; that was the _*_very reason she first left Ridge in the first place!_*_ Or did you foret that a guilty Taylor wrote Ridge a note _confessing her indiscretion_ and left because she didn;t want to hurt him? As opposed to Brook _hiding a letter KNOWINGLY_ to get him.... Talk about hypocritical, now? And yet even after all that, and losing her marriage to Brook _twice_, Taylor _Still_ saw the woman as important because she helped raised her kids; you forget it was _Taylor_ who *protected Brook* and got shot when Sheila tried to kill them! And this wasn't even the *first time* Brook did something so distatesful and dishonest; she *deliberately* tried to sabotage Ridges happiness with another woman as far back as the 80s, _hiding a letter_ Ridge wrote to Caroline spilling his heart to her and telling Caroline how much he loved her! Brooke literally _conspired with Thorne to keep Ridge and Caroline apart!_ After that, [the first time Taylor came back and Brook married Grant Chambers in 1995, she STILL made attempts at *blackmailing Ridge into leaving Taylor for control of the company!* and yes, they failed; only thing that kept Taylor & Ridge apart was the fact that he protected Rick by covering for him in Grant's shooting...and Brook _still_ tried to use that as I mentioned before! Even though Brook _knew_ Taylor was pregnant and they were together, she conned a _drunken Ridge_ into her bed; Ridge was so pissed he rebuked her for it. Hell, even when Taylor was out of the picture, Brooke tried to interfere with Ridge's _new_ relationship with Ashley Abbot, and Ridge had to ask her to leave him be! So yeah.....Pot and kettle much? 3] Taylor _did_ say she wanted her family back with Ridge, but again, she made it clear that it was *his choice* and that she would respect _whatever_ decision he made. She never pushed, never "manipulated"{ and was up front aboput it to both Ridge and Brook, _and_ her children. And she really only gave that consideration after being back in L.A. for literally _months!_ I'll totally agree it was _Stephanie_ who used the fake heart attack as justification, but when did *Taylor* _ever_ call him her "Destiny" and use that as justification for her actions? PLEASE show me proof of that. If anything, Taylor _specifically_ tried to move on with Nick, and that annoyed Brook _no end_ because she "was in love with the both of them" at the _same time!_ So she *actively* tried to interfer in Taylor & Nick's marriage, even [gotta give her credit here] coming _to_ Taylor's office and _admitting she still loved Nick_ and *didn;t want Talyor to be with him!* Mind you, she was *married to Ridge* at this time! 4] Wait.... Taylor is a _bigger_ Slut? How so, please? Let's give them that they both slept with Ridge, Thorn, Eric and Nick----and Taylor , to my knowledge, never _consummated_ anything with Eric until years later and they were both single, thank you---- and she dated Storm and I think had a brief flirtation with Stephan. Brook also had Grant, Deacon, Whip, Oliver Jones [ _another_ daughter's boyfriend, mind you, so that makes *three times now!* ], her _sister's husband_ Bill... And Taylor giving Ridge choices. _And_ Taylor checking herself into Rehab.Adn Taylor annuling the marriage when she found out about Stephanie's fake heart attack. _And_ *pleading guilty* for Darla's accidental death! It's not so much that Taylor "doesn't face" her shit, it's just that, comparatively, she's done _so much less_ than Brook when she _does_ it tend to stand out. Brook NEVER Blames herself when she does something wrong; didn;t she _not too long ago_ ask Eric to _claim_ HE'S the father of her child so her affair with *her sister's husband* doesn't go detected?!?!?!!? How is THAT "Facing up" to her flaws?????? Dude, i get it....you're a Brook Fan; it's all good. Please note: she also _put_ her kids in peril in the first place, first falling asleep and letting a fire be set, then by leaving them over night. How did leaving a confession and leaving her husband "benefit her"? How did helping Brook with her depression when she almost lost her kkids "benefit" her? Taylor as a psychiatrist should have known you cannot go back to a lie that has been uncovered as such and pretend that the foundation is still there…this is what the problem with Taylor’s whole character is: perfection allows second servings of what Brooke knows how to do far better than her, Make love to a man, to seem like the better choice.
