R.I.P. Oz Rock! That was my friend in Providence R.I. Taught me how to windmill. Nobody had a more powerful windmill than "Jerry" Oz Rock. Water breaking in Mountain Dew comercial. I was so proud

He was the best breakdancer I have ever personally seen from my days at the RadioTron. His windmills as this video shows were impressive, but what this video did not show was how amazing his head spins were. He is the first person I ever seen do a 1990. I wouldn't be surprised if he invented that move. He lived in Hollywood, CA and in 1983 or 1984 he was my inspiration to practice my moves and get better. Just a few years after this interview, in 1989, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison where he died.

@@biglo9889 that's really personal and I'd rather not divulge in that right now. After all these years it's still so much to even bring up. I just want to pay my respects to my amazing uncle. His love of dance and performance lives in me but with my arthritis I can't move like that.

Our crew "Dynamic Rock Force" use to hang with him when he was in Japan. Along with some of the guys from New York City Breakers, they were teaching breakdancing in japan at the time. Early 80's

Oz Rock was not just a great breakdancer and pro-performer, but he was fit as hell. Seemed like a humble and down-to-earth man. Really sad to hear his wife and kid were taken from him. Anyone know why they were taken? I heard he passed away. RIP...Adolfo "Jerry" Alvarez

Any chance you know where this came from originally? I'm writing something on hip hop history and want to cite the original source. Thanks for sharing this. This is dope footage.

Hip hop did not get started by Hispanics at all. It was completely started by black music and black MC’s. Hispanics participated by nothing about hip hop is Spanish.

I seen Ozrock perform with the Top masters Crew at Spinoff roller skating rink in Boston across the street from Fenway Park in 1983 . They danced to the instrumental of SUCKER MC'S.
