B.C. Cancer eliminates exam-table paper, saving 32 tonnes of emissions

A team at B.C. Cancer cut the use of exam-table paper in four cancer centres across the province over about a year. They found it had no impact on hygiene in outpatient clinics and resulted in greenhouse gas emission savings equivalent to driving a gas-powered car more than 130,000 kilometres, according to a published study in the B.C. Medical Journal.
