In Nanaimo BC, my child's 5th grade teacher decided that they were going to march in the pride parade. I told her that it's not appropriate for children to be marching in a sexually charged gay pride event. The following day, my child came home and told me that her teacher said that we "Don't have the right to exclude her from the parade"...!?!? A conference call with the principal and the teacher set them straight. You're teachers - not parents - don't EVER tell me that I don't have the right to tell my child what she is and isn't allowed to do.
