You are amazing! You have a unique ability to explain the bigger picture. Most profs only confuse their students by zooming in too much on every unnecessary detail, with no zooming out.

I don't understand how you're able to explain so well. Why can't professors teach like this.... If you don't mind me asking, could you explain your process of learning a concept prior to teaching it? Do you read a bunch of articles about the subject or what exactly? Also, thanks for making these amazing videos🙏

Haha thank you. I try to repeat prerequisite concepts and fully solidify it in the viewers brain before moving on to a new concept that builds upon the previous concept. Also, in order to explain a concept in a way that makes sense in a viewers brain, I have to make sure I truly understand the concept and it makes perfect sense in my brain before being able to explaining it in a way that makes perfect sense. I don’t necessarily read many articles about a videos topic but I make sure I have a pretty darn good understanding of a topic if I’m going to make a video about it. Thank you for the nice comment!

do you need MHC II complexes for b cells if the antigen isnt a peptide? or will it simply express the antibody on its membrane without the MHC complex?

What tells the cell that the peptide should be destroyed? How does the cell know that the peptide is bad and not something like an insulin protein or something that shouldn't be destroyed?

Hey... this is a very complex process but to simplify it... the adaptive immune cells in our body are trained so they know what is a natural self antigen vs what is a new foreign antigen... but this is a really complex process and really needs to be taught in a long forum university lecture format
@sciencesimplified38903 жыл бұрын
Essentially, our immune system creates billions of cells that each recognize and attack its own assigned antigen... and if any of these immune cells recognize and attack our own self protein antigens, these cells are suppose to be killed so they don’t induce autoimmunity.. but this process is not perfect
