Segment of local history in everyone of your clips are so informative and interesting. I realize they take time to research, time to compile, and lots of experience to bring them to us. Gracias Amigo This segment includes many chain or franchise outlets. Very insightful. Answered a lot of questions. TQ

Thanks Elmo for your makan tips in PJ area and this help to settle my makan place during my stay in coming months. I do like Ipoh Sun Yuan Loong Kopitiam but I prefer Taiping Yut Sun restaurant. The Taiping Yut Sun hainan kopitam definitely offer an must better atmosphere. I'm always get to enjoy very much with the people, the environment and of course the hainan chicken chop their signature dish every time I visit. Do re-visit again.

Elmo, I really don’t understand all these comments about background music and criticism about how bad the episode etc is! These people shouldn’t be watching your videos if they are so unappreciative. They have nothing good to say. I’m sorry you have such people watching your videos after all the efforts you have put in. Don’t be discouraged as the majority find your videos to be very good and informative. I actually keep note of the places you recommend

4:10 Heap Seng Leong is the oldest traditional Hainanese coffeeshop in Singapore and it is unique because the premise and the food preparation are still exactly unchanged. As it was near the immigration building, I used to have my breakfast there before getting my matters sorted. In recent years, I have not been able to patronise because their popularity shot up after being featured in mainstream media. Then all the influencers featured them so nowadays many youngsters go there, take photos and post on their social media. I don’t even know if they actually eat the food. The owner and staff are very old but unfortunately I do not see any successor being groomed. Fortunately the many coffee shops and drink stalls at hawker centres all serve such traditional breakfast set. We should also be thankful for the franchising of many such old names. Other than the Killiney brand you mentioned, the others are Ya Kun, ToastBox etc. This kind of traditional Hainanese breakfast should be a UNESCO World Heritage, jointly by Malaysia & Singapore.

Was hoping you can recommend those like Chong Kok and not those franchise outlets. By choice I would not go franchise outlets but Old Town an exception when at the airport Couple I can think of is Wing Heng Sing (Jalan Imbi) and Yut Kee Restaurant. A lot of the Kopitiam owners seems to make money from the monthly rental to the various stall owners and from drinks made by foreign workers. Cannot even make decent toasts and half boiled eggs anymore. (Maybe not profitable?) How about your recommendations for Roast Duck next eg Loong Foong and Sunrise (SEA Park), Champion Duck (Medan Putra), Sun Meng Kee (Tman Connaught) Sze Ngan Chai (Kepong) Not always the same for char siew and roast pork. Keep up the good work esp your intro commentary.

I love the historical background you give for the food in review. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I think Kopitiam in shopping centres or modern looking ones takes away the ambience of an old kopitiam. Like those chain Bak Kut Teh shops. Just my opinion.

Another winner, Uncle Lee we want you to continue to provide quality contents on the gastronomic scene in KL but we know it will also take some financial resource. Do you have a Patreon account where your loyal fans can support your endeavors? We know you are extremely modest when it comes to charity from friends or family but please do understand we appreciate good contents too and are willing to support you. I have seen and been part of a KZbin community that gave and still gives to certain content creators on YT. Please consider it if you think it would be of help to you. Thank you.

Maybe you'd like to consider to feature maybe just 1-2 restaurants / food in depth (history, background, price, more close ups, ingredients, location, etc) per video, rather than top 8 of *xxxx* all the time, that way you can stretch your videos and reduce time required to visit so many restaurants, also can reduce the money spent on the food.. Just a suggestion, maybe can try that out.. :)
