Wow, he's actually quite a pioneer. He's quite recognized for his talent, despite being Asian-American and gay. Even today, it's hard for Asian-Americans to land roles that aren't stereotypically Asian with heavy accents and mocking those stereotypes, but roles that are just people who happen to be Asian.

Did he seriously give out his own parents HOME address on national television?! NOT very smart even for 1988 San Francisco, which was a world removed from the current one. I know since I used to live there on Jones Street. Notice I left out the address. Glad to see young B.D. Wong became the first gay Asian male to win a Tony, that I know of.
