Setsuko Thurlow, 92, is an A-bomb survivor living in Canada. Born as Setsuko Nakamura in Hiroshima, she was exposed to the atomic bomb when she was 13 years old. She has continued to speak out about her A-bomb experience in countries around the world, and in 2017 she took the stage at the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for her significant contribution to the enactment of the Nuclear Weapons Convention. While many of the A-bomb survivors who have raised their voices with her have died in the midst of their efforts, at the age of 92, she continues her activities, saying, “I cannot stop raising my voice. We traveled to Canada to learn more about Mr. Thurlow's “past and present.
