Thank you. I love good Judo (only orange belt myself 50 years ago in 'Geesink town' Utrecht)

I still remember seeing Geesink beating Kaminaga at the final in 1964 Tokyo Olympic. Geesink was not only strong but well-mannered genuine Judoka fully understanding the spirit of Judo, endangered species these days.

Not a lot of clean throws, more like wrangling for position. But good osaekomi.

He's very cool, though, I like his demeanor a lot.
@mjkcneely11 ай бұрын
@@Q_from_Star_Trek Agreed, reminds me of Travis Stevens of the United States after he injured his knee. Get the opponent to the mat by any means for newaza. Impressive, so hard to turn/submit a turtled opponent within the time limits.
@MatthewNguyen-zx3de4 ай бұрын
Yep, its interesting that he doesn't mind just putting people on the ground. Works great because his ne-waza is excellent, so he'll just pass the guard and pin for 20.

I didn’t want to say this, but judo sacrificed its roots in self defense when it did away with attacks below the belt to promote itself in the Olympics with excellence in the traditional big throws that are dramatic and devastating. But this is what we end up with anyway, Mongolian wrestling instead of beautiful techniques. Btw, I love Mongolian wrestling 😅

Muito fraco. Venceu a maioria das lutas devido ao erro do adversário. Não apresentou nenhuma técnica de ataque característica do judô japonês.
@assaokinoshita38204 ай бұрын
Falou só merda. Ono e Yamashita foram os maiores judocas de todos os tempos. Se Yamashita estivesse lutando na atual era, o francês Teddy Riner não teria nenhuma chance. Yamashita venceu 203 lutas consecutivamente, e deixou a carreira invicto..

They look pseudo-Jujitsu. IJF will ban Newaza soon as they banned Ashiwaza which made Judo pseudo-Mongol wrestling.
