Had the pleasure of meeting this awesome man some years back and have a photo of him with his arm around me...such an honor. Special person, he dedicated all his songs to his beautiful, loving wife who has stood by him as her vows state, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others as long as we both shall live. She is definitely what makes him complete.

This tune is so kewl. I first heard it over the radio in Hawaii, when as a 16-year-old, I went to work over there in the summer of 1977 . It came out in August of that year. I went to the beach and was greeting by strong waves and grains of sand. Brings back lots of memories of my teenagehood years. Seemed like yesterday.

It reached #2 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart... Between 1966 and 1983 he had twenty-six Top 100 records; with five making the Top 10 and two reaching #1; "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" for 4 weeks in 1970 and "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song" for 1 week in 1975... Mr. Thomas will celebrate his 72nd birthday in two months on August 7th, 2014...

I've been studying this song, this Brian Wilson/Beach Boys classic. And B.J. Billy Joel and even Lorrie Morgan among so many others who sing it make it a winner. This song is so perfect that no matter who sings it, it is great. The bass line and the drum line that drive the song is so strong that a dog could bark it out and it would sound great.

Killer job! Usually, I don't like a song that drags on too long, this is an exception. I always loved this song, but it needed some grown up lyrics to replace the teenie bopper lyrics that Brian Wilson penned. BJT did the tune up that was needed, BJ sings like a man with passion for his lady.

Yes I agree this guy was always underrated. Not sure why he has a superb voice and phrasing. Maybe his management wasn't so good back then but he sure still has talent, he sounds just as good older as he did when younger.

so underrated..my gosh..this guys voice is awesome..with more control than even elvis..i have alwayz though bj had a prettier voice than elvis..but elvis was a rocker. and could out rock and dance bj..still bj deserve more props than hes received.
