A great testimony indeed..by a man who had become " a new creaton " and was saved by the blood of the Lamb ..Jesus Christ..Amen !...I will meet BJ in the not too distant future as I will be 75 in 5 days and the sand in the hour glass is dwindling..fast...hihi I look forward to that meeting as I have loved his music for a very long time.If you do not know Christ..Today...is the day of your salvation .Knock and His door will be open to you to receive His free gift of eternal life.......Dana

This mans testimony on national TV helped to open my heart to the Lord and become saved shortly thereafter. I was also on drugs, insane, depressed, hopeless, out of my mind, but now 30 plus years later I am still alive, and still serving God and still full of hope. God used this man to help find me and get me saved, and I give testimony to that fact as fruit of the sincerity of his conversion and testimony. How sad the the poison of the Pharisees has to leave hateful comments like they did below. Why don't they just be quiet and let their hatred seethe within themselves as they live their own lives as shining examples of sinless perfection for everyone else to judge, full of obedience, love and grace....

I am so grateful that Jesus heard my lowly voice in the middle of the night and accepted me into His house and gave me a permanent home with Him. Ever since I was a kid, a lot of BJs songs have powerfully, touched me. His voice, and the way he puts the message together in his songs and the story he is able to weave is like he is able to find a deep place in your heart to grasp hold of and begin to work that change. It's unreal that it has taken a good chunk of a lifetime but now, I know why. I'm not sure if the man is even, still alive but THANK YOU, BJ, regardless. ❤‍🔥🥰😔

For those pharisees who have concluded that BJ turned his back on the Lord...he has not. I read his comments when he decided to go back into the world...he said: "I am an entertainer who is a Christian, not a Christian entertainer". Jesus went into the world, the sinners, the prostitutes, and the tax collectors to tell them stories of faith to open their eyes. BJ is going into the world to tell stories of faith to people who would otherwise never enter a church. Jesus avoided the religious hypocrites who loved to segment themselves from society, for those who needed grace and forgiveness.

I agree with you. It broke my heart in 1982 @ Six Flags Over Texas on Christian Weekend when while B.J. was singing his secular music as part of his concert to hear Christians practically boo him because he was not singing all Christian songs. That day I heard him make that statement, "I am an entertainer who is a Christian, not a Christian entertainer. God did not call me to be a Christian entertainer but to be an entertainer for Christ." He needed the support of God's people at that time, not their criticism based on how they think he should use his talents. No, he has not turned his back on God, but God's people turned their back on him. (BTW, I am a Christian and a Preacher).

B J Thomas is a true Christian because he wouldn't still be here today at the great age of 71 yrs. old if he hadn't turned his life over to the Lord. Drugs would of killed him by now, plus he wrote a book about his salvation. Trust me, Jesus is not a phase you "go through".

As I understand it BJ Thomas has been quite clear that he was not a believer in Jesus and he renounces Faith. Looks to me like his career was going down so he turned a Christian music to get back on his feet I think it's disgusting.

Thank you for notating my comment I'm just a little surprised I assumed everybody I just believe because he made some totally awesome songs that meant he was a Believer. Obviously only BJ Thomas knows what he believes. Did Lovett songs and still listen to him though! God bless I hope you and your family are safe through this crisis.
