This song epitomizes his career. B.O.B. has always been able to go back and forth between himself (Bobby Ray) and his alter ego (B.O.B.). Songs like Headbandz appeal to his B.O.B. fans and songs like this appeal to his Bobby Ray fans. Personally, I like both of them. Part of being relevant for more than a few songs is knowing how to adapt. Haters gonna hate regardless.

@@zackc5973 I know what the song is about. It's not that deep of a song to figure out. It's obviously written from 3 different perspectives and the last verse is from Bobby Ray himself where he explains and reflects on people saying he has changed due to the fame and fortunes. Doesn't change the fact that the guy is self-aware enough of the issue to make a song about it and then still make trash music afterwards. Only reason I care is that I used to be a fan of his music and even like this song, but nothing after this album.
@zackc59733 жыл бұрын
@@woofertube Think about it, this is a song that at the end of the day, is about him trying to figure out how to find a middle ground between what the fans of his hood/club tracks, his pop persona, and what ultimately he wants to make. He figures out, the only way to appease everybody, including himself, is to appeal to nostalgia hence the melody of this song being a sample of one of his even older tracks. In other words, he knows hes never gonna make everyone happy because of how his fan base was split. Over two very different sounds he made at the time. And, has accepted it. You bitching about his new songs show you either don't get or don't care about the sentiment of this song. Which is ironic, since you're opening comment claimed you liked this song while bitching about his new music.
