B-oh-What? What is the BOM in a Fashion Tech Pack?

how do I work out how much material I will need for my garment? I am fresh to this if that question did not give it away. also can you recommend any manufacturers for quality, price and efficiency. thank you :) also this is great info!

Hi, Danny. Thanks for watching and commenting! There are some rough calculations you can do on your own based on the size and length of your pattern and the width of your fabric. However, the most accurate (so you can also get an accurate price) will be done by the manufacturer. Usually manufacturers specialize in certain types of items or fabrics or products, so while I can't recommend a manufacturer for quality, price and efficiency because I don't know what type of product you're making or where your located, I can say that you'll want to consider the type of product (pants, tops, jackets, etc), type of fabric (woven, knits, knits with spandex, non-wovens), category (mens, womens, kids), and your pricing tier (discount, moderate, bridge, designer). If you're unfamiliar with the pricing tiers, make sure you look those up. That'll give you an idea of where the price of your item will most likely retail. That will help you understand how much you can afford to spend on making the item (about 1/2) so you'll know if the manufacturer's cost is too high or within your price range.
