I never saw the hype in MKG. Was a super athlete, but more of a super athlete in the way of guys like Tony Allen where he wasn’t smooth enough in terms of all of his fundamentals to be anything more than a spark plug guy off of the bench, or someone who could play in transition but would never be able to play in the half court. But who knows.. player development is a huge thing. What if MKG had been playing for the Spurs instead of the Bobcats?

He does admit he's not a draft genius :D

Presti's weakness for high upside shots in the draft burnt them a little here. 28 would have been a perfect spot for Draymond Green.

It's so funny that fucking up with Valenciunas and taking Tristan Thompson instead actually helped them win the title.

Seems there takes were really off with this draft.

I think a lot of people were. It was not a great 1st round draft other than Davis and Beal. The second round had a lot of hidden gems that saved it though.

@@maxdurk4624Davis, maybe, but Beal over Lillard?
@HITMIDorBIN3 ай бұрын
@@Nevyadomsky Lillard was playing college ball at Weber ST. He looked like a top 10 pick, but no one thought he would become the franchise player that he became. Point guards were also very deep in the NBA at that time. Why would Charlotte take Lillard when they had Kemba Walker already? Brooklyn traded out of that draft to get Gerald Wallace because they didn’t like anyone besides Davis, Beal, or MKG.
@Nevyadomsky3 ай бұрын
@@HITMIDorBIN I guess I misunderstood the comment when I wrote that reply, my bad. I was just referring to mentioning Beal, but forgetting Lillard. Regarding Brooklyn. You're right, plus I think the new owner wanted to contend and not play the long game, and their GM was the infamous Billy King, who, in retrospective, contributed to Celtics getting Tatum and Brown (arguably, worst trade of all time)

The whole Tom cruise conversation wouldn’t have passed today. The funny thing is nowadays Scientology is a punching bag and back then he was afraid to joke about them.

True.. nowadays their amount of people is shrinking but they are getting wealthier somehow.
