I walked into an AD to buy a Longines Hydroconquest today - ended up walking out with this for almost half the price 👌🏾

There's so many beautiful watches out there ruined by a white date wheel.

Different strokes...I kinda prefer it. I honestly refer to the date more often than the time.

Totally agree... Wished they'd let customers choose between this and a date-less version.

This has been my daily for 9+ months. As a 20yo this is freaking amazing. The case shape, bezel, coating, finishing, bracket + clasp, and the dial are all incredible. The dial doesn't get boring. I personally don't mind the hands at all. It's so lovely for the money..

This series of Seiko's is so underrated. The best value diver's out there. My 063 is a keeper and I wear it more than my Tudor BB GMT.

I totally agree! Nothing feels like a seiko on wrist! And as for the increased prices on seikos like this, mm300, 62mas, etc. I feel like they are definitely a step up in quality from the skx, monster, etc but I would feel more comfortable picking them up used like this for the $650-$800 range. Very cool video rob as always 👊

I need help, just with the blue bezel, is there a watch under $500 that comes close to the blue of the squale 1521? please i need to know

Good to see man. I have micro brand blinders on but it’s nice to see an old friend in this watch. I haven’t touched a seiko since rona pretty much. I sold out...digging the micros more. Great point about influence though...I’ve been misguided a few times...just stick to what ya want.

I own this one, and it my favorite watch. Just fits perfectly despite my sub 7 inch wrist. The finish on the watch is beautiful as well. But the biggest winning attribute of this watch is the dial. It is literally breathtaking and literally worth the price. It’s just insane. Your video really captures it. I own several other brands, like Hamilton’s (my rose tone/black X-Wind being my 2nd favorite watch), Oris, etc, along with several other Seikos. But that particular watch is my favorite watch in my collection. Just spectacularly beautiful.

Seiko makes some gorgeous dials. Combined with their brilliant case designs, it is easily my favourite watch brand. They have a certain “X”- factor.!( no pun intended)

So how does this one compare to the new reduced MM200 and the Christopher Ward Trident Pro? I go back and forth between them
@svenschukat29583 жыл бұрын
I have a CW Trident 600m and had Seiko divers in the past. From the CW you can expect a much better bracelet, with the option to adjust on the fly. The ceramic bezel is nice and snappy. The movement has a higer beat rate then the seiko and you can expect better tolerances out of the box. Guess its clear by now which I prefer ;-) Which one looks COOLER to you? that also important.

I dislike the handset and prefer the more seiko looking models, for me its the sumo, love the case profile of the sumo with a crafter blue strap, even fits well on my tiny wrist.

How does CW 40-41mm Diver's compare to these. they market with the lightcatcher cases. There is a sapphire model I'm eyeing lately ! And then the monta oceanking in same segment but a bit upmarket. Would love to see a review on all these ;) P.S. I get the Seiko love. My skx is a daily watch these days

On the topic of how a Seiko feels on wrist: I just got an SBDX017 MM300. I always feared it would be too big, too tall and too hefty for my 6-inch wrist. But I always wanted one because to me it's the most beautiful Seiko ever built. I tend to wear all my watches on CWC or Phoenix Natos so I tried this with the MM300 and it's just incredible! As long as you hold the watch in your hand you can feel the weight and size. As soon as it's on the wrist, this feeling almost disappears. Of course, you feel that there is a watch on your wrist but it kind of just blends in.
@e28forever303 жыл бұрын
Rob, is the blue on this dial comparable to the “blue coral” dials on the Sumo and Monster? It seems pretty close to my SBDC069, the way it plays with the light.

My every day watch. Actually have it on the silicone strap cause it is lighter. Got it used on EBay for around 700, and it was practically new in box, looked barely worn.
@jonathanstoddard20813 жыл бұрын
Another aspect of the Great Blue Hole that is shared across the other MM200s of this design that won't be found on Seiko options at lower price points is Seiko's DiaShield scratch resistance treatment. While it certainly won't make a watch scratch-proof it is definitely a more robust finish (in my experience, anyway) than bare steel will be. The dial is definitely worth the premium versus its other MM200 siblings. It's an absolute stunner in sunlight. 😊
@Joniyah4443 жыл бұрын
Rob you are right, you put in words what is just short of an experience. I did purchase it, and once I saw the mm300 I lost interest In this and it just sat... instead I got a San Martin and have a new found love for the mm200
@simonwright68823 жыл бұрын
I've been considering seiko at this price point but it's a tuff choice sbdc187 and spb143 but not too far away is the oris aquis. And then to throw in the mix I just got my 1st zelos and that's a curve ball, insane value !

It isa wonderful watch, fit, finish, the movement, color, bracelet. It is a very nice total package. Love the Seiko Design language. If people are interested, they need to touch it in the metal to see what is causing all the positive comments.

I still love Seiko. While im mostly into the Swiss and German stuff these days, im still into Seiko. I picked up the Seiko SRPE45 Mojito and the dial is insane and ive been wearing it over some much more higher end pieces. You cant beat Seiko. Yeah they raised their prices but for what you get the value is still there. Crazy lume, crazy dials, in house, decent prices, aftermarket options, availability, durability and reliability, ect. You cant kill them man . I still have a SKX that i wore working construction when i was younger. Wore it and subjected it to all kinds of horrible stuff. Shocks, vibrations from crazy power tools, dust, mud, cold, hot, ect. Never missed a beat and ten years later still is within 15 secs per day. I just wish they would tighten up their accuracy tolerances because ive had some Seikos that gained or lost 20-30 seconds a day. As well as QC control. My last few watches ive bought from them though are running within COSC but thats just luck i think.
