The inconsistensy in the way you explained the weapons and where you placed them was mildly infuriating. Like you had the exact same description for some of the leggies but they scored completely different tiers, just felt kinda rushed. Also with the sounds, you included it on some, but didnt bother to put it in on some of those with actual good sounds

I have to agree with the inconsistency. Vallun didn't establish the criteria for the grading at the start of the video making his choices look haphazard. He could have explored the effects for more abilities and discussed how the abilities change (or fail to change) across classes. He could have given better examples as to why he thought things were good or bad. I suppose it is difficult to analyze so many legendaries and compare them. I do appreciate Vallun's effort and I have watched most of his videos but I was disappointed with this format of video.

I personally really like the animations of Exordium. It feels like the weapon adjusts itself to the needs of the user, making it feel legendary. Becoming more of a lightning rod for mesmer auto attacks, expanding in a shield shape when using the block on the ranger or a dagger forming at the pommel when using a pommel strike. The throwing animation is a bit weird though.

For the Aztec weapon it would have been a great idea to make the dragon shoot the projectile, instead of from the scepter itself. Like your commanding the dragon to shoot

Saying that Bolt is just a fence, without appreciating at all the details of the dragons that are on it feels kinda odd. I think it's one of the most detailed legendaries with those dragons wrapping around the sword

@@dymonz2363 While intricate, I would argue that it makes no sense as a sword. Swords are supposed to have an edge, with a fine point so you can cut and stab with them. Making a sword that's basically a barbed wireframe of a fence post, no matter how intricate, doesn't really make sense practically.

Nice to see some different opinions on some of the legendaries. My favorite legendary is Sunrise, it was the first one I got and the only one I have right now. I really like the light theme that it has. My least favorite legendary is probably Rodgort. I think it had a lot of potential, but it seems very boring to me. I really liked this tier list. I can see why you don't like Eternity, but please don't forget to mention, that the Footsteps of Eternity is way bigger and has a Explosion on it vs Sunrise&Twilight. Personaly Eternity is S-Tier weapon for me. It has 2 different effects depending on Servertime and its even differrent to Sunrise and Twilight. I can look into the Skies all day long and i don't get tired of it.

I put it at A tier, untill they make 2 new eternity versions that are only using twilight or sunrise skins (with the added eternity effects). You can't really make it fit well with a dye theme as it is currently

Personally, I think some of these weapons like the Howler or Meteorlogicus are designed really well and have amazing aesthetics. It's just those designs don't really work for a weapon, since weapons are small and you swing em all over the place it's very hard to appreciate all the details and at some point it all just becomes a messy blur. I think those designs are best used as full on explorable areas instead of small weapons, you can tell the artists put a lot of effort into them and imo using them as weapon models is such a waste. Legendaries should look fucking amazing, but also be not too detailed such as Eternity, Shiningblade and Kuzdu.

Cool video though I don't share the same view as in judging leggies based on their combat practicality only, for me it's more about the feel for example with Chuka the draw animation just feels so fluid when you're running around on thief that it makes it top tier for me, as for the worst legendary I think I hate the Dreamer just because of how much BM it feels haha. What do you mean practicality? When one ranks Legendary weapons they do it based on their looks. That's it. That's the whole point behind having one. And as far as looks are concerned, the greatswords can't be beat. They're genuinely the prettiest looking weapons I've seen in any mmo. Also, you're not hitting them with magic. The blade is still a physical thing. It just drops a trail as you swing. 🤦‍♂️

Hey Vallun, Punisher.8159 here. I just started playing GW2 coming up on 4 weeks ago after being a GW1 player since 2nd beta. There were a lot of negative comments from the hardcore GW1 community about this game which kept me away. After seeing on some youtube video's (some of yours even) that there were mounts, gliders, raids, and so many amazing artistic skins on top of amazing artwork I caved in and started playing. I am sooooo mad at myself for not trying the game sooner. I'm in absolute love and hooked now. I've been playing a Reaper Necro and going through all these stories and I really missed having a game with a great story and voice actors (I played Rift for awhile... yuk). This game is so much fun! I found this video to be very informative and appreciate your time. For me I think maybe Dusk is my go to favorite? I just love the dark animations but maybe that fits a greatsword wielding necro. The Bi Frost however is just gorgeous to me and fits what a legendary should be very well. For one I may not agree with I would go with the Verdarach. It's just too big and clips with armors too much. I think more thought could have gone into the angle of how it's held with "clipping" in mind. For this, I would have to rate it lower even though the animations are amazing. Thanks for the video's and keep up the good work.

Not very objective as some people may have noticed, but still a great guide! Showing all the weapons and effects in one video was very useful! And I like your perspective on most of the tier list anyway :) Also, allow me to give a small terminology correction: Animation is when player (or weapon) model itself moves. Nevermore ravens flying, Flameseeker page turning, head on Howl or Rodgort moving are animations (love these little details btw, really adds up the Legendary feeling for me). Sparkly glowy stuff is called VFX or visuall effect. All projectiles, traces, explosions and flashy things on drawing / swinging a weapon are effects. Also also, Fav legendary: Flameseeker Prophesies, really clean and not over the top visuals and effects, runes and book projectiles look especially cool, and also a big thing lore-wise! Exordium is close second because of the concept and the amount of work put in all the different weapon forms. Least fav: Pharus. I'd love to see a cool and unique Longbow legendary, but this one looks worse than a store item (Mythic, Chaos and other skins), and even projectiles look like a downgrade from, say, Dragonhunter longbow skills. Favorite: The Binding of Ipos. It just feels so unique to be wielding a tome of ancient evil as a weapon, and the mystery of the lore behind it intrigues me a lot. I wonder what being made it and what forbidden knowledge is inside that my character knows but sadly I don't. Least Favorite: The Dreamer. It's fun enough as a legendary, but it's the worst in terms of the lore. Anet did alright explaining it with the new text each legendary got, but the fact is unicorns *don't exist* in this world. HOPE would be S tier if the actual gun wasn't so horribly scrappy/ugly looking dissing on Exordium was a really bad take though, the entire theme of Exordium is a living sword that morphs based on the wielder's intention, and that is the biggest part of it's charm. It's infinitely more detailed than most legendaries, and if you were to hate anything on it, it should be silly overdesigned shape it has normal form and basic attack chain.

im here just to check if The Binding of Ipos is S tier, because if not, im malding very much. Im very casual, and i never crafted a Legendary, and i have only 4 ascended weapons an half of armor. When i do my open world or Fractals, the only game modes i enjoy, i see many people with Leggy's. But none is so jaw-dropping as Ipos, god damn its so beautiful im actually thinking of making it myself, now i just need to find a good build _focused_ around _focuses_ edit, you indeed made it an S tier, very based and valid of you. Astralaria is very beautiful leggy imo, the mechanism animation is pretty, and the fact that it "ablazes" the cosmic particles from the mechanism part is very dope i think another edit, what about the Exordium on Mesmer, and few other professions? Some animations may look weird, but on mesmer for example, the sword turns "circular" on basic attacks, which i find very god damn cool Pharus has S tier SOUNDS, another leggy i thought i may actually start invensting in The flying wizard scepter, would be cool if the flying lyzard would shoot little bit of projectile that connects with the projectile from Scepter itself, as if the tiny lyzard added some of it's own power to the shot

For me personally, the story with Chuka and Champawat and the legendary itself is what gets it to be the best legendary overall. I like Binding of Ipos and agree with how they're trying to get the legendaries more "environmental" aspects outside of just the aura, footfall and wielding effects. Least for me is Sharur or Flames o War, just don't feel like legendaries at all, which is a shame, because I think Sharur could have been a much better looking legendary, and we've seen adjustments made before with other legendaries. You are brave to do a tier list for legendary weapons because it’s such a subjective experience. My list would be completely different. Favorites are Binding of Ipos, Xoquatl (spelling incorrect), Chuka & Champwat and Twilight, worst is Quip, Moot, and Dreamer. AmigaDave.5623

you FORGOT, if you crit with Pharus, there is a beam of light coming down on the enemy which was the MAIN part why i built it, to "reveal" thieves as ranger

I thought it was a bit weird you explain Chuka and Champawat the way you do, and then put it in C. Then directly after remark on how boring and plain Rodgort is and put it at B. This is a controversial video for sure though lol simple on Twilight being so low. EDIT: Then mentioning Exordiums animations as distracting, which is the whole point of the sword! If you had said that the horse noise was pleasant I would have thought this a troll video lol.

Feels like you got Staff and Scepter mixed up. Scepter as something physical that you would strike with. No class uses scepter as a melee weapon. Everyone has a range of 900 with it. The staff was aoriginally all ranged as well, but with Heart of Thorns the Revenant got it as a melee weapon and Thieves that chose the Daredevil specialisation also use a staff for melee.

I've crafted a number of these myself and I made Shooshadoo because it was hilarious to have a quaggan with me in a fishbowl, although if I were going to redo this, I would probably have chosen Flameseeker Prophecies instead since I'm a big GW1 fan. Unfortunately shields are not that great on Warrior, which is my main class. I didn't realize how many legendaries utilize the flames look with footsteps and attacks. The Claw of Khan Ur doesn't distinguish itself from Incinerator enough in my opinion and it costs a lot more to craft. There is lore reason for the dagger to exist, since it was the MacGuffin in the Ghosts of Ascalon novel, but Incinerator looks much cleaner. I'm currently working on Astralaria, because I love the look of these weapons that show stars and the sky like Eternity/Twilight/Sunrise, which I have also crafted, but your video makes me want to start working on the Shining Blade. That will have to be a project I will take on in the future. I'm also waiting to see what the third generation weapons actually look like before I start working on yet another one, since only a few people have managed to craft them right now and info is still scarce since the new expansion just came out.

Favorite legendary: The Predator and Eternity (couldn’t choose haha) Least favorite legendary: Pharus reiwyvern.8167 I picked those two legendaries for odd/sentimental reasons; Eternity because drawing and art is important to me, and Sunrise and Twilight look like paint and ink when they are wielded. It is also the first legendary that I crafted. The Predator because I got the precursor as a drop, which caused a domino effect of me creating a deadeye and falling in love with the class then crafting The Predator for it. Plus the sound effects and projectiles were a bonus pleasant surprise.

Probably because Chuka is my first completed legendary so there's bias, but the tiger roar effect just makes it a really unique and top tier legendary for me.

I can see we have very very different opinions on legendarys. I agree on ipos, but for me, the dreamer despite the sound, is as legendary as it can get. You put rod above so many, much better. Hehe the nevermore comment. Raven flys off... looks closer.... the raven actually get consumed by the staff
