I know I usually tell a silly story in the description but my Daughter just popped by for a visit so no story today. I have visiting to do.
I came back to give some Kudos out to a few turners for their inspiration. First, Cutting a recess in the interior of the roughed out bowl is a trick I learned while taking a class from Ashley Harwood. If you can take her bowl turning class you should

Secondly, I have to give credit to Stuart Batty for the folded up paper towel trick. Putting some counter pressure on the outside of the bowl during scraping really cuts down on the vibration. I saw him demo this trick in a video a while back. Stuart sells awesome tools and turning related things. You can check them out here

Thanks for watching! Sorry it took so long to get part 2 posted but I was sick with a sinus infection for 12 days and I couldn't get off the couch to do any video editing

What lathe speed do you use for sanding v turning the bowl?

Sanding 600 to 900 sanding. Turning 800 to 1200. It's all depends on how well it's balanced and how big it is
