Thank you for awesome comparison. I was seriously eyeing the 13 pro but for me the biggest dealbreaker was the telephoto on portrait mode being a longer focal length (at 3x, almost 75mm) since I prefer the 11 pro’s 52mm equivalent. Considering you can get an 11 pro now for almost half the price of the 13 pro, it’s a solid option until Apple makes all the 2x, 2.5x and 3x options available on portrait mode

That’s a good point! The 3x zoom does take a little while to get used to coming from the 2x on the 11 Pro.

If you didn't tell which side the 11 pro and 13 pro was, i wouldn't have been able to tell where most of the shots came from honestly. Made me appreciate my 11 lol. im happy knowing it's around 80-85% within the 13 pro (minus the telephoto) and definitely still better than most flagship androids.

Just got the battery replaced on my 11 pro at Apple. Was really hoping the 13 pro would be it but I think the 14 pro is going to be more worthwhile. Plus the lack of usb 3.0 on the 13 pro will make it agonizing to transfer prores video onto a desktop/laptop. Those files are THICC.

I was at 86% battery health on my 11pro and was probably going to replace the battery when I got a text from verizon offering me a free upgrade to the 13 pro. Don’t ask me why but I couldn’t pass that up.

The better low light on the wide angle lens, longer reach with the zoom, and macro mode is what’s drawing me in for the 13 pro. The first thing I noticed when I got my 11 pro was how muddy the wide angle images felt. It’s also interesting how in some cases the 11 pro seemed to have better detail in the shadows. I don’t think it’s worth it for the average user but I know photographers will really appreciate and maximize the improvements. Overall I’m still surprised how negligible the differences are in some situations. Thank you for the awesomely detailed video!

Thanks! Yeah, it’s amazing how close the two phones are. Plus, many of the differences between the cameras would primarily only be noticeable if you were doing a sided by side comparison. Both phones are amazing!

In my experience with my 11 pro, using a 3rd party camera app (I use Lightroom) makes the pictures significantly better compared to the stock app, even when shooting JPEG. The stock app adds way to much artificial sharpening and it looks kinda rough and noisy. Interestingly, I’m not really seeing that effect so much with the photos shown here. Oh and to really see the cameras full capabilities, try shooting in raw with low iso and long shutter speed, on a tripod. I was shocked to see how big a difference it made. Even pulled some photos from my 11 pro up on my 55” plasma tv, and they truly looked great!

Ooh good point! yeah Lightroom processes photos so differently than the stock camera app. I haven't tried comparing identical Lightroom-shot photos from the 11 pro vs 13 pro yet, but now I'm curious!

@@b3naqua That’s a great idea for a video :) I think the 13 definitely pulls ahead with less noise in medium-low lighting conditions and a little more detail because of those bigger sensors letting in more light. I’m no expert in photography, but I suspect the 11 may be able to close the gap by compensating with longer exposure when taking still shots. But then of course the 13 would perhaps pull ahead again given the same advantages!

1st photo looks better on the 11 pro. it looks sharper as well as stronger colors. The red shirt looks sharper on the 13 but your face looks sharper on the 11. look at the dog, the dog has sharper eyen on the 11 and sharper nose on the 13, i think the focus is just slightly different

The 13 Pro is not bad but: After seeing over a dozen reviews of iPhones 13, compared to iPhones 12 it's just: Slight decrease in saturation Slight increase in contrast Slight decrease in exposure. Slight but really slight increase in detail. In fact nothing impossible to do in post-production with your old iPhone 11 or 12. Seriously I really can't convince myself that the 12 and 12 Pro don't have enough power to handle these new software additions (cinematic mode, raw video)🤷🏽‍♂️. Especially since I am almost sure that many Android manufacturers will implement these features on their smartphones which are supposed to have much less powerful processors than those from Apple.

Good Q: for me, the 13 Pro is worth the sacrifice of the new harsh edges and heavier design because the cameras are so powerful. I still prefer the size and weight of the 11 Pro, but the new features on the 13 Pro made it my main phone rn.

the 13 has a similar wide angle focal length as the 11, but the aperture is wider on the 13, so ultra wide vids and pics on it look noticeably sharper and better/not as noisy
