Got this drone for myself today. It's a really fun flier!! I noticed a rattling kind of sound when I'm maneuvering, like banking a turn or if a bit of wind comes up. I'm wondering if anybody else experienced this. Otherwise, a ton of fun to fly!! Nice review!

i took mine to the beach nd sand got in the gears. it could be that. but u can pop the motor cover off and clean the gears ou.

@@darncodemonkey the rattling sound is just the sound this drone makes. I got a replacement from Amazon at the time and it did the same thing. I have had the opportunity to open up one of the arms to get at the gears and motors to clean out some debris. It's quite serviceable!! I have flown the heck out of this drone since I got it and love it!!

I think its just the brushed motors, especially if you are used to the sound of brushless motors

@@b4ugo it is a sound unique to this drone...not the brushed motors. I think it has to do with the flex in the arms. It is noticeable when banking a turn or changing direction which will put some stress on the arms. It isn't a problem since the drone has countless hours of trouble free flying. It just sounded like something wasn't right when I first got it.

By far the best tutorial video on the Deerc D10. I had problems getting phone to connect to camera. You are to only guy to suggest switching on Airplane mode. All fine now. Your video gave me the confidence to give the drone some distance, it really flies well and returns. Many thanks.😃

Actually, can I ask a question, please? It's probably an easy one I should know. If I have the drone facing me (the camera is facing me), is it possible to make the control that if I move the right stick to the left, then the drone also moves to the left, if I move the stick to the right, then it moves to the right?? Great video. It's December 31st, 2022. Just followed your steps to connect the Drone and went into the backyard and everything worked great. Never owned a Drone so this was my maiden voyage this morning. It was surprisingly really easy to operate. Controls are responsive and you can feather your landing down. I took off from my Hot Tub lid and landing back down on it without problems. I'm use to an Xbox remote so operating the joysticks was 2nd nature. Overall really happy. Only odd thing I noticed was that my video record button on the remote doesn't seem to engage the video recording feature. I had to press the video record button on the APP to engage it. No real problem there but something of note. Fully intend to bring this on my next vacation to Mexico and get some aerial shots of me and my friends on the beach.

Thanks for this video guide... I've just got this drone for Christmas, only been out once with it as the weather has been a bit Welsh lol... Got it flying in manual mode getting the hang of the steering. It is quite responsive, even for a novice like me. The only problem I'm having it with the trimming, I can't seem to get it to hold level, I have to keep correcting the position by steering backwards... I'm sure I will work it out tho. Your vid has been a great help tho, so thanks... Keep safe out there... Also... If that's your garden, it's real nice 😊

Make sure is on level ground when you calibrate the gyro’s on the controller, if its off even a bit it will fly weird also make sure there are not any metal objects when you calibrate them, its not just this drone, I have to so this with $10,000 drones. Thanks for watching

The problem with it and others like the D20 are weight. Now you'd generally think, "WTH does a drone need extra weight for? Don't we want it lighter?" The answer is NO when it comes to the lower-end budget drones. If you have a very slight wind outside, it will turn that D10 and D20 and your HS210 into expensive pieces of shrapnel. We were able to control it a bit by throwing the full speed of the drone against the wind but then the wind would drop and suddenly we'd have a drone going 180 degrees to the direction we wanted at full speed. I see the propeller guards on the D10 are different than the D20. The problem is that the D20 guards physically eject themselves into being lost if you hit anything. We've lost all our spares for our D20 so now we Gorilla tape the remaining ones on. Oh, the battery will pop off the D20 if its a hard enough whack so it might be the same for the D10? Don't get me wrong. The D10 and D20 are fast as heck and I love flipping it no matter how many times I do it but the wind has just too much weight on it versus the D50. It really MOVES when there is no wind when its on full speed. I love it when we hike because the trees kill all the wind and its a nice small package to record some smaller yet still decent videos on the trails whereas taking the HS 720e or 700 is just too much drone for twisting paths. Keep up the great content, James! I'm trying to start my own channel but learning to edit is kicking my butt. :(

I have one. First flight...too windy. Set itself down with the wind blowing it towards a lagoon. She was still blinking underwater....grabbed it immediately...ran it even though it was wet....then shut it down put it infront of low heat for a few days. Frickin thing still works. The guys were laughing because the last view the camera showed was underwater with weeds waving in front of it. Only thing that went sideways.. .the one battery that was in it while it was looking for Nemo, doesn't last as long ..but still works!!!!!

Not really, just the fact that it has a camera at this price is a bonus, honestly just take photos with it and use the video for orientation after you are familiar with it, i wouldnt even use the camera in the beginning

This is Chris from the future with some SAGE advice. The foldable props for the less expensive drones are cheap. Cheap drone, cheap parts. I ran a D20 into a wall inside the house. It was not even really that hard of a hit but it hyperextended one of the props. I would imagine if you got a little too aggressive that you could do it just by opening the props. What happened? Holy Stone and DeeRC use very short leads from the controller board to the motors. Blue for plus and Red for negative. If you hyperextend it is VERY easy to rip one of the leads off of the controller board, disabling one of the rotors. DO NOT FRET. You most likely didn't kill the motor unless you took it for a swim. If the prop is still in one piece you're not dead. Someone with a few soldering skills can unscrew about 10 or 15 little screws, pop the top off and see that the wire has been pulled off of its pad. A bit of heat, a bit of solder and the connection is fixed. You can even test if this is a fix by powering it up, holding the wire to it's pad and see if the dead motor spins up. I turned a DeeRC D20 from a piece of grey/black plastic garbage back into a fully working drone again with about 30 minutes of work.

@@b4ugo Oh I was just testing the 20 and without the trim set it went "yeeeeyyyyawwww" into the Christmas tree last Christmas. I thought it was the wall but I remember it was the tree. I got if off the tree and saw that the strut was hyper extended. In any case, if you go inside these drones, they don't have a very complex setup outside of the controller boards. All four props have 2 sets of pads and the wires to the motors can get knocked off them. I hate thinking about a kid who maybe overcooks his hard earned drone into something and then throws it out when all that is the problem is a pulled wire. :) Keep up the great content. Always good to see some of your tips. (Crossing fingers for a good pick because I would love a nice smaller drone between my 20 and my 700e. Something fun to sit in the back yard and play with ORRR perhaps a character in an upcoming video.

Hmmm, just pulled this out after sitting for a couple years. The battery in the quad was dead...I guess you shouldn't leave them in for storage. Flies fine on the other battery but I'm getting loud continuous kinda random mechanical clicks in flight. Props all wiggle about the same...none loose. Any idea what might be clicking?

hi i just got my drone deerc d10 just today and i tried to connect it to the WiFi and it wont connect. the drone wifi connection wont show up in my phone.. i tried to connect it also to my tablet but still the same problem does it mean that the drone wifi is deffective?

Couple things, try using airplane mode, the drone is just using the WiFi from the phone, not your home. Also, try deleting the app and reinstalling it. I have had issues in the past with certain drones but one it worked it worked from then on.

You have to use the wifi to use the camera, you can fly it without it but it has to have a device to operate the camera

first time i flew this thing the wind took it and it almost landed in a major street. Also even low flying the wind will through this thing around like crazy. I only spent about 15 min with it. Can you show more videos on the trim and control of the drone. I just need it to fly 18 feet and make a 360 turn and back again. thanks

I doubt it, double check that the battery connections are not rusted or have the springs bent in any way. Pretty sure it’s a battery connection problem, never had an issue with a controller for a budget drone shutting off.

@@b4ugo thanks.. But the controller is malfunctioning.. I have Checked everything.. 4 packs of new batteries plus i have rechargeable batteries. When you press power button on controler nothing lights up or beeps. It sits for a few minutes (sometines) then you hear a beep and see a light. Then it goes blank...no power no sound. As of now it hasn't turned on in at least a week. It only worked for about 3 days and i started to have issues after that.

We got this drone and the camera doesn’t work, just a white screen, any tips? Your video it just automatically was working, wondering if we got a dud? Would love your opinion. Thank you.

Have you checked to see if your phone is capable with the app, also try deleting and re-installing the app.

It can but I wouldnt advise it, its a pretty good size drone, unles its a big open area.

I am unable to connect to the drone via Wi-Fi. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Does everything have to be turned on at once? The phone does not see either the drone or the remote control.

Ya, not sure about that phone, you can fly it without your phone, just cant use the camera

I have a few video’s that kinda go over it, start with a HS210 with covered props, I had the D10 and when I wreck it it broke the motor, covered props are a must to start. Thanks for watching

If your very experienced in flying drones then you can fly this model indoors. I did with no crashes or problems. Well except for the dog trying to catch it.

to be honest I dont know, I know it has to have a certain WiFi capability, I like the controller on the D50 better but they both fly great and the D10 is foldable.

Just got it and it worked for maybe 10 minutes and now the remote keeps beeping and failing to connect to the drone. Won't stop beeping after I move the left stick up.

Hey, so I've had the d10 for a few days and the camera wouldn't work on my phone so I tried to slide the camera off the drone itself like you did in this video and now its totally broke?? I thought it just slid off. Do you know where I can get a replacement? Tia :)

It would be cheaper to get a new drone on EBay, it’s the same drone as the Holy Stone HS240 and they are about $32. The HS camera isn’t quite as good but close, but the rest of the drone is the same

I’m the USA, you only need a license if your using a drone for more than recreational purposes. But, everyone needs to take the trust test and you can’t fail it!

Any wi-fi drone will not have good range, probably no more than 300 meters, you would need to got to a GPS drone to get long range.
