Great vid as always! Have you done a video talking about tire and wheel setups? I know there’s endless options boiling down to personal preference, but to go through some common setups, the best for the stock wheels, and your personal setup would be pretty cool.

Hey Kern! I recently replaced my torn PCV diaphragm and my oil filter housing. I assume I should probably check spark plugs. Any other additional maintenance I should probably do? So far I've only changed the oil after the oil filter housing replacement bc of the coolant leak. Thanks brother.

Hey man nice video as usual, im MHD stage 2+ with TU pump and I had regaped my plugs to .22 for the setup... should I return to stock? I'm on factory Champion plugs with 18k miles. Thanks!

If it's running fine, I wouldn't worry about it. I just recommend stock gap for future plug changes.

Hello, my bmw G32 630i b48 has black smoke in the exhaust end, and with an obd tool, I found the mix ratio goes 0.9 around right after engine braking and slightly accelerating. In idling or just re-accelerating while running without engine brake, these have 1.0 ratio. And 1.0 at normal running and full acceleration. What do you think is wrong? The dealer says no problem if no diagnostic error in the display. In that condition, the intake pressure shows slightly lower than atm. pressure. I think the throttle is opening less in that case. Then the fuel injection accordong to the MAP should have been adjusted. very strange, I guess this is inherent in software itself. I am gping to replace the plugs first, because the car has 55K km milages

Question about the foam. Does the foam covering the back of the engine really matter? I thought maybe there were some insulating attributes to it as well. I've been contemplating to leave it or take it out. Sound wise having the engine cover on or off makes the most sound difference.
@kern417 Жыл бұрын
It's mostly sound deadening. It's removed on both of my cars.

From the BMW manual: "Do not grease/oil thread or use any graphite or copper grease. Adhere to the torque values of the packaging information or regulation. Note: If these instructions are not followed, especially with regard to greasing, this may result in mechanical damage to the spark plug housing/thread. Spark plugs that are not tightened sufficiently lead to leaks and to the spark plugs coming loose during engine operation." So, you were saying?

@kern417 no, I'm not an engineer x and thank God. The people that really understand cars and see engineering mistakes are the ones working on them. Steel plugs seize in aluminum. Fact.... but you do you, that's your car, not mine. But in the 100s of not thousands I've done, not one issue using anti seize.... plenty of issues dealing with plugs when it's not used, especially most factory ones.
