B7 Center Console Install Into B6 A4

Not sure how many of these parts are still available directly from Audi, but here are all the B7 part numbers for the entire swap (B7 console into a B6). I took this from the Audizine console swap guide and added multiple parts they either missed or assumed you are reusing from the B6 parts. Depending on the condition or version of those B6 parts you may want or need to replace them so I included them. The only part number that is missing now is the B7 wiring conduit. If you can find the part number for that please post it here. If you are in a junkyard pulling a console out of a B7, you'll be right there to see the part number on the conduit, so just take a picture of it. Otherwise you'll have to cut up your B6 conduit to get the console to fit. One note on searching for these parts if you can't find them, take the color code off the end altogether (last 3 char if present), and remove the dashes "-". Center console : 8E0-863-241-E-6PS Console screw caps: 8E0-863-273-7PE (left) & 8E0-863-274-7PE (right) Hand brake assembly: 8E0-711-303-L Hand brake trim: 8E0-863-276-C-6PS Power outlet assembly: 8E0-863-284-C-6PS Hand brake Boot: 8E0-711-463-D-6PS Hand brake bracket: 8E0-711-543-D-4PK Hand brake button: 8E0-711-333-B-3Q7 Console center mat: 8E0-863-301-D-4PK Console connector plate: 8E0-863-259-B Hand brake grip: 8E0-711-327-F-6PS (8E0-711-327-M will also work, and 8E0-711-327-P-1KT) 3rd mounting bolt for hand brake assembly: N-101-277-07 This entire list is in Sabre Black, but if you need to order these items in other colors, you would simply need to replace the part numbers ending the black color code, "6PS" with the following color codes that apply to you: EC3 - light platinum (grey) 4D9 - indigo 8C1 - torrone (beige)

Hi! Im having a hard time installing the new center console from the b7. There’s a plastic mount/box covering the main wiring that gets in the way, and it won’t let the console fully slide in. Did you modify that part also?

I’m not really sure, all North American B7s have cup holders. I would assume it should drop right in without any modification though.

Hello, you can specify the exact model, I know it is an audi a4 b7, but the b7 that I have seen have the same central console as the audi a4 b6 and not the one you have mounted,thanks and good video

I think the partnumber is 8E0-863-241-E-6PS (6PS is the colour). As far as i know it is an USA exclusive option. I could not find one in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany ect.

Okay so i did this already. I replaced that e-brake nut with one of my spares from mk4 golf brake repair kit. Also did not remove seats. This video was a big help!

That’s the factory console in North American B7 A4s so like 2006-2008 here in Canada. We just pull them out of junkyard cars.

B6 Arm rest works just fine. The b6 arm rest is actually bigger once you take the cup holders out from it

Can I get a little bit more explanation on the fitment? I’m having trouble getting things snug around the parking brake and just can’t for the life of me figure it out.

So, when I first installed it I was able to cram everything in, but later noticed my hand brake didn’t feel nice so I ended up trimming the plastic wire loom guard that passes next to the hand brake, so that it fit better with the B7 console.

Was it necessary to switch the ebrake to bb7 also?

Yes at 2:45 You can modify the B6 handle by slotting the mounting holes so you can move it over to the left but it’s much easier to just use the B7.

I just did this days ago.. everything went great except i cant get my cigarette lighter to work.. i tried everything. My b7 harness has 4 wires (two blue/grey wires) in comparison to where i snipped the b6 wires which only has 3.. ive tried literally everything. I dont know what to do

Assuming you've checked the that the fuse isn't blown, you'll need to get in there with a multimeter and find the +12v source and ground from the B6 wires, then make sure those are connected to the fatter of the two wires on the B7 end. IF that still doesn't work then you'll want to check the cig lighter on a separate 12v source to confirm that the socket itself isn't too damaged/corroded.

Sorry for the late reply, but you can also run an extended wire instead of wiring a whole new one.

In the process of doing this swap now and it won't fit. The wiring conduit on the B6 on the left side of the e-brake handle is too fat and tall. It does not fit under the console correctly and obstructs the ability to put trim back on. I think we need the B7 wiring conduit as well to complete this swap correctly. If anyone can find that part number, please reply here. I can't find it.

Yes, I had managed to sneak it all in but it was tight. After the fact I took it back apart and trimmed the conduit with a blade to remove a bit of the excess interfering material.

​@@PBGarage Yeah, I ended up cutting the entire top cap off the conduit at the seam where it bends with a razor and taped up the rest of the conduit to squeeze it together a bit to make room for the e-brake handle when down, but I'd still love to replace it with a B7 conduit at some point if someone can find the part number. The B6 part number is 8E0971824AB.

We usually find them in B7s in the junkyard and pull them out if they are in good condition. I'm sure they can be found on eBay, craigslist, and the forums as well.

can you change the steering wheel from b7 to b6?

I know you can swap B7 steering wheels onto B6s you just have to have the right set of parts like the B7 clockspring. Not sure about going the other way B6 wheel onto a B7, I think B7s have 2 stage airbags so it might not work.
