I did a lot of work on that thing during the 90s & 2000s during its restoration That includes the strip-down & everything.. Anyway, good to see they've got it up & running again... Don't forget to put small racing greyhoud stickers above the instruments in the cabs boys. The reason we were going to put small racing greyhound racing decals on there when finished is because B72 was nicknamed "The Greyhound" by the drivers back when it was in service because it went bloody hard for a B Class...hence the nickname. She was considered a good unit...

A beautiful locomotive. Also here in Finland, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a series of handsome round-nosed diesel electric locomotives, type Hr12, later Dr12, were produced.

I believe the EMD "Bulldog Nose" E and F series diesels are the most aesthetically pleasing ever built anywhere in the world. The lines are so smooth and convey motion so well. I always have and always well love them.

Great to see the B72 running after 27 years. EMD built their engines to run for a long time. All it takes is the will to maintain them, as all of you did. Congratulation to a job well done. For an engine that operates around 900 rpm in the 8th notch she’s going to be around for a long time … regardless whether it was a gp-9, gp-7 or a wagon top ( our nickname for them on the B&O ), they had a great and dependable prime mover ….thanks for the awesome video …ms~~~

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I’ve never seen or heard of this B72 before. It is radically cool! The old E & F unit engines are some of my favorites! I grew up around the CSX rail shop & there were always engines around & running all night. I have some very powerful memories of my life there. Love to see her move under her own power! Hope that she gets finished. Thanks for sharing.🥰😎✌️

Many of our preserved and renovated diesel-electric locomotives in the UK have quite an active retirement on preserved rail lines, as well as on the national network hauling heritage train tours. They can even be seen earning revenue on national rail services and on industrial lines, covering loco and multiple unit shortages. As there are very limited supplies of loco-hauled coaches here on our national rail network these days, they often end up hauling rakes of preserved coaches too.

Absolutely would be nice to see some of the Tangerine era in preservation for sure. V/line beat everyone to the punch with A66 but Teacup absolutely would be a nice one. Underrated scheme if you ask me. Also agreed, blue and gold is nice but it's kinda boring to only see it everywhere and nothing else. Then again, I guess that's historically accurate too hah.
