Just ordered me a carpet kit. I am an Xray guy and have the xb4. It will be nice to see how this performs compared to the Xray. It is a beautiful kit. Cannot wait to build it.

I still like that you use paper plates to hold the parts just like most of us do. I used paper bowls when I built my TRX-4 earlier this year. They work better for smaller build areas.

I'm so jealous... ive AAAAALLLWAYS wanted a team associated car or truck, ever since my first traxxas stampede in the 90s... i wanted a rc10gt, but id LOVE a b series vehicle too, or a t series electric truck... all their cars and trucks are just so amazingly well designed, thats why they always win races. Im tempted to fix my 3d printer and try to find a printable kit of one of their vehicles...just to have one, cuz theyre SO expensive. Unh... soo beautiful, such a clean build.

To be honest, high end Tamiya kits (Race version M’s, TT’s, and the TA, TB and TRF) are actually pretty nice.

@@itspique they are, but they just aren't on the same level as team associated. Tamaya tries, dont get me wrong, but associated is racing pedigree, losi being second place in my eyes. (They are, or were, the only real serious competitor for Team A back in the day) Every piece is designed ground up to be perfect for racing and as good as they can possibly do for a kit car to win races.

Love the series of racing builds would be great to see some onroad nitro race cars. We onroad guys are here too. Even electric would be ok. But nitro is best 😉

We'd love to do that, but without a proper track in our area, it would be a limited series. We love some good onroad action though. I used to race a lot of TC back in the parking lot days. It was some of the best r/c fun. -Brett

Easy to get into a grand with these and that is insane. Especially if you have to get a radio on top of it. Then you're in the 1,200-1,300 range.

No, but there are not that many parts needed; shock springs, pistons, sway bars and then Slipper or Center diff. The setup is completely different of course; shock fluid, diff fluid and so forth; but I believe that's about it. -Brett

You wouldn't want these 2.2" buggy tires, you would want to shop for the 2.2" Stadium Truck Tires & Wheels: www.amainhobbies.com/search?cID=2340&s=2.2+stadium+truck Notice on the left menu, you can filter from tires or wheels. You may want to find out what tire tread and rubber compound work best at your local track before spending money. -Brett

Oh man. There are many 4WD buggy options out there. If this is your local track, checkout what buggies are popular in your area. If you get one of those, then it's easy to get setup help at the track, and find parts at your local hobby shop. It's a bummer to break at the track and you can't get buy new parts, and you can't borrow parts from the other racers. -Brett

I want to get back into RC after decades out of the game. I am looking for an electric car/truck, kit, something customizable/upgradeable but not this level of "pro". Any suggestions?

Congrats on wanting to get back into it, the selection of cars and different types is pretty wide. For kits that require assembly, most are meant for competition but Tamiya still offers kits for most of their cars, Traxxas offers a version of the Slash 2WD as a kit and then most trail trucks/rock crawlers can be found as kits. Most of the bashers or "just for fun" cars come as ready-to-run, but what type of car/driving do you have in mind? -Brett

I am just looking for something to mostly build/modify and occasionally casual(spirited) drives in the school parking lot behind my house, or maybe get brave and hit the skate park around the corner. I don't have access to dirt but I like the idea of the toughness of a truck like the Slash. But I also really like the idea of having a road car, I have never owned one and love the looks of them. I will keep researching, thanks again!

@@StingrayOfficial Cool, I'm glad you were looking at the Slash. Of all the R/C's out there, none have more upgrades and accessories available than the Slash. You can even get on-road tires for it too, slam the suspension and make a pretty fun parking lot racer. It's a very versatile platform. Enjoy the journey and let us know if you need anything. -Brett

Yes, but you'd want the Dirt version, designated by the D at the end of the name. Currently, it would be the B74.2D; this is it: www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-rc10b74.2d-team-1-10-4wd-offroad-electric-buggy-kit-asc90037/p1447397 The other version, B74.2 (non-D), is meant for high traction carpet and astro applications. The Dirt car on the other hand is of course for dirt tracks, clay tracks or any other low traction applications. Both cars can be swapped into the other by changing key parts; it's pretty easy, although not cheap. Hope this helps you Cole. -Brett

@@colestaples2010 Touch choice! I'd recommend seeing which car is most popular at your track. If you get the same one, it's much easier to ask for tuning and setup help from the fast guys; otherwise, you're all on your own. Seeing which car has more parts available at your local shop is a good idea too. -Brett

It has to do with how much you can charge the cells. LiHV is capable of charging to a higher voltage, thusly providing a little more power and punch. Mainly used for competition purposes because of their cost. A standard LiPo cell fully charges at 4.20V, most LiHV cells fully charge at 4.35V. -Brett

Cringing a bit at 8:10. There is a channel built into the front spine that will fit your ESC and Fan wires. Tape on heatshrink has a tendency to fail.
