✈ B747-SP Engine Test on the Runway with an INCREDIBLE SOUND 😯

The private B747-SP (VP-BAT) got 4 new engines at the Lufthansa Technik at Hamburg. This is a cuttet movie from 2 hours of stuff. History of the VP-BAT: Built in 1979 and delivered to PAN-AM as "Clipper Liberty Bell" N539PA. In 1986 sold to United as N148UA and since 1995 owned by Qatar Amiri Flight as VR-BAT and since 1997 as VP-BAT! Update: In 2020 this Plane was sold and rest now in the US Desert.

So impressive! I remember taking a 747SP to Morocco in 1989 and what a beautiful and impressive aircraft! It makes me sad to have to say goodbye to the beautiful 747 family since I have a lot of happy memories of traveling on the 747! They certainly will always be remembered and will become classics and will still be appreciated on display in museums around the world 🌎🌍!

that bird is flying with one of the 1st models of the JT9D turbofans. they can only run 2 of the engines at a time because the wheel brakes wont be enough to hold her in place

Yes. He flew on that plane when ferried to USA for maintenance, which shown on his video.

Yes they did. It's last variant of this engine was produced in 1985.
