Two Go Nagai manga in a row lol, I definitely recommend reading more of his manga as well as a mangaka who worked under him who does similar stuff Ken Ishikawa. And for mecha, really the most important thing is that each series is its own thing, it’s better to decide on one that caters to the kinds of genre you like. Funnily Go Nagai is THE forerunner for giant robots in anime.

The first volume of cain saga is a mix of storys, the author came back to cains Story after drawing her most popular manga (Angel sanctuary) and finished it beautifully in 13 volumes! Its my favorite manga of all time, its just that between volume 2 and 3 were 6 whole years and it shows.

It's only "content" if used as an umbrella term because the author/person has used many different mediums/things so you can't just call it one thing, and "consuming" if you didn't actually put any thoughts into the things you read. You probably get countless recommendations everyday, but if you wish to find peak old school Romance I wholeheartedly recommend Ashita no Ousama (by Emiko Yachi). It's about a woman who dreams to become a stage actress but ends up becoming a playwright instead. It has a masterfully-clean art style, wholesome romance and the writing tucks at the tenderest heart strings of a creative.

We have very different tastes in stories (sports manga make me honk shoo mimimi) , but I can appreciate all of the effort this video took, and we do have some overlap. Not to mention this is just a great video idea. Side note, you say "unforgettable" to mean that the story is lackluster multiple times in this video but I think you mean "forgettable" or perhaps "unremarkable". Unforgettable has a positive connotation. The story is so good that it's impossible to forget. I'm not trying to be rude, I just thought it was an interesting misunderstanding of the word I don't think I've ever heard before. Anyway keep up the great work man, you're going places with this level of quality for sure.

I just have to mention, you actually did read a manhwa before hitting Swordsmaster, since Zippy Ziggy and Get Schooled both count. Manhwa's black and white paper publishing scene collapsed after long strip webtoons took over the market in the latter aughts. Modern Korean webtoons currently have an rpg fantasy genre inbreeding problem like manga does with isekai, but there is a pretty diverse array of different series out there if you look past what's most popular right now. If you have any interest in checking out more pre-webtoon manhwa, I'd recommend checking out Priest, Zero, Island, The Breaker, or Immortal Regis as examples from near the end times of that industry. I read them forever ago, so I don't know if they really hold up, but they're an interesting parallel evolution to the 2000s manga scene in Japan. A decent number of authors/artists (of the print era specifically) also successfully made the jump over to Japan to work in the manga industry or are still active in the webtoon industry now.

If you're looking for more awesome manhwa I recommend "Sweet Home" and other works by the same author. This author loves to make dark mysterious thriller series with great twists, with Sweet Home being arguably his most popular. Sweet Home gets pretty dark and gritty, with monster designs I adore and really uses the medium to create some great horror

hold off on the dynamic manga pages for some of them please. it gives a little bit of whiplash when you say something looks good but it gets contorted to look like a doodle this isn't to say that they're _all_ bad, I genuinely really like how some of them are done, but in some cases where you need to move limbs and they're in a 3D pose, it looks awkward. like 3:40 and 11:34, the first one sort of has his forearms and hands expand, it would look better as a still shot, although the ones before it were executed great!

Mecha is fun to watch because it's a departure from the traditional Kaiju / global catastrophe genre. When you think of the traditional Godzilla movies, you often see Godzilla fucking shit up and just being an overall force of nature. And when Mecha Godzilla was introduced to the Godzilla franchise, you saw this "oh shit" moment from fans and comic readers. It's partly why shows and manga, such as Sentai Rangers, Transformers, Gundam, etc., cropped up in Japan in the late '70s and early '80s. The idea that you can pilot this destructive force on par with a Kaiju or, in the case of some anime such as Neon Genesis, become a literal god. It makes you feel like you're capable of doing anything. This is the same reason people genuinely enjoyed Attack on Titan. At first, you're led to believe that there are these "Kaiju" called Titans, and you have no real chance to stop them, so you have to use your ingenuity and skills to create ODM gear and target their weak spots. Later, it's revealed that Eren and others can shift into Titans and use their abilities to fight off the other, more mindless Titans. This feeling, when readers see Eren being able to shift for the first time, is the same feeling we get when we engage with the Mecha genre. Now, there is also another degree that Mecha fans love, and that is the "remorse or cost of power" trope. You see this a lot in anime, such as Neon Genesis, Gundam, or, to some degree, Code Geass. The idea that characters experience such emotions also keeps readers hooked to the genre.

The animation of the panels are super cool and really well made but I really don't like that you sometimes don't show the art as it is in some segments. I think not showing any pages is a huge mistake since that's what I'm going to be looking at if I decide to read any of manga. If you liked Streets of Mysteries you should check out Shigeru Mizuki’s other works, mainly Gegege No Kitaro, it’s a good blend of genuine love of folklore and the supernatural (which make sense since the mangaka was a folklorist), bits of horror and campy silliness. High Recommendation

Mecha are cool in basically the same way kaiju are cool. They're big and imposing, and any fight, even a small one, leaves a big impact, so there's a lot of spectacle to a mecha fight. Except mecha usually have human pilots to get attached to, so they're a little easier to latch onto then kaiju are. Also the fact that they're mechanical instead of biological (usually) also itches that love of shit like tanks or jets or cool cars or whatever. Anything beyond that depends on the subgenre the mecha is in. If you like sports series, watching something like Basquash (basketball) or IGPX (racing) might be good ideas.
