@jaycee3302 жыл бұрын
Japanese doesn't have a "future" tense, so it would be based on it's plain/non-past form". One can add time words to express future: Tomorrow, I will make him eat. Ashita, tabesaseru.

This is very helpful - but how do you put it in the past tense, to say something like "If I had known you were free I would have invited you," for example? Would it be 「暇があったと知れば招待しました。」 or something like that?
@jaycee3302 жыл бұрын
Here, you would opt for the "tara" form, as inviting someone is not a direct natural consequence of being free. Also, I would add "moshi" at the start to further emphasise the condition: もし、あなたが自由だと知っていたら、私はあなたを招待していたでしょう。 Moshi, anata ga jiyuu da to shitteitara, watashi wa anata o shoutai shiteita desho. [in the case], [you] [subject] [liberty] [be] [if known], [I] [topic] [you] [object] [invitation] [would have done] [probably]

Doesn't "Dekiru" the potential form of "Suru"? "Suru"'s Ba-form is Sureba and, "Dekiru"'s Ba-form is Dekireba. Does that mean the potential form of plain verbs can have their own Ba-form?

I thought to think was 思う, what is the difference between 考える and 思う?
@Revia214 жыл бұрын
I'm not a native speaker but I think 考える can be translates as "I think to myself", while 思う is used to say "in my opinion/I think".
@duffman95334 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure this answer is good... Kangaeru is I have reflection and Omou is I give my opinion
@jaycee3302 жыл бұрын
omou: to think (of or about something) kangaeru: to give consideration (about something), to ponder (over a subject), to reflect (upon one's actions)

@jaycee3302 жыл бұрын
It means "If I hadn't made (him) angry"
@jaycee3302 жыл бұрын
okoresu - make angry okoreseru - cause anger shinakereba - if (I) not done (something), from the negative of "suru" (shinai) + the ba form (shi-nakereba).

Why is Japanese such an unnecessarily complicated language? Why does every verb need to have its own conjugation for conditional form? In English you only need to learn one word “if”.
